Shadows Of Love

Exploring Suriname, A Sunday Afternoon In Paramaribo!

Exploring Suriname, A Sunday Afternoon In Paramaribo Hello, Story Time friends from around the world. How is it going in your part of the world? Today I am back with another travel and foodie adventure! This time I am taking you guys to explore the city of Paramaribo.  Suriname has 10 districts and Paramaribo is the capital. The city of Paramaribo is a shopping center on its own! πŸ›It's filled with more stores than you'll see houses. πŸ›’During the weekdays it gets as crowded as a small city in a South American country with less than 500.000 living in the country can possibly get.πŸ‘½Since I was a kid I felt like an alien in this country. But either way, I still love my hometown! Practicing self-love has helped me learn to be myself. That was the only way I could discover what my strength was all about! Turns out that's only the beginning when you're living life. After I found myself, I had to let all parts of me free to be able to evolve, grow, and explore! I am happy

It's a buttery pastry filled with chocolate chips. At Tulip Supermarket you can find a lot of products from popular international brands. After we left Tulip, we went to get some P

I'm back to take you guys on another adventure in tropical Suriname. 🌴Lately, it's been very hot in Suriname.πŸ“Ή I made this video of my shopping adventure at the Nieuwe Grond Market on the 9th of August. Despite this day being a national holiday in Suriname, the market was still open. It's one of the few places that's open on a day like that. On the 9th of August, the Javanese Immigration and Indigenous Day is celebrated. Certainly a day worth celebrating if you're a mix like me. On the 9th of August, we remember the day in history when our Javanese Ancestors left Indonesia and arrived in Suriname. After the abolition of slavery, our Dutch colonizers sent immigrants to Suriname to work on the plantations. Most of these immigrants had been brought to Suriname under f
