Watching Boats And Water Scooters On The Suriname River And Shopping In Paramaribo
Hello Story Time friends, how have you been? I am back with another adventure! Don't forget to jump onto that Story Time U.F.O. 👽👾🛸 when it pops onto your screen. That way you get my adventures zapped straight to your inbox! I appreciate all the support that I get on my content creation journey.😛 It's been a while since I picked up the keyboard again. But that doesn't mean that I haven't been cooking up my adventures for you guys behind the scenes.🎥📷 You're going to want to tune in to our Story Time episodes, as we keep growing, learning, and evolving! For this adventure, I am taking you guys along to show you my beautiful country Suriname! As I mention a lot on my blog Suriname is located in the middle of the Guyana's. We're a South American and Caribbean country that's known as the beating heart of the Amazon rainforest. Just like the people, our landscape is diverse! In the first part of our adventure, we head to Ornamibo in the district of Para. I got invited to a private location, but the view was so beautiful that I couldn't resist including it in my adventures for you guys. We weren't too far from White Beach! The large groups of water scooters and speedboats 🚤were a sign that we weren't too far from the resorts where these watersports are endorsed. The wind breeze made a mess of my hair, but I didn't mind. All I did was try to relax and breathe in the fresh river air despite the cold that had gotten the better of me. 😐 Sometimes you just need to sit down and love life while living in the moment!😃 Those moments pass by so fast! Learn to treasure them, when they are in front of you! After all, these kind of moments are what makes exploring Suriname during your travels unique!
The Surinamese tropical weather surprised us during this travel adventure! Just like that, it had become darker over the river and the rain began pouring down!☔ A cold breeze surrounded the river and we made our way back home! The rain and cold might have been too much for me, but that didn't stop the fun on the river. The water scooters and boats kept on giving a show despite the big raindrops falling down into the Suriname River. It was a short trip back home and I tried to warm myself up with some delicious strawberries that I got from a friend of mine. He brought them all the way from St. Martin to my doorstep, and that's something that I appreciate! Especially since I was feeling under the weather myself 😥. I dipped my strawberries in chocolate because that's the way my chocoholic tastebuds adore them 😍😎. Once I had partially recovered from my cold it was time to visit Paramaribo! For those of you who aren't familiar with Suriname, our capital is Paramaribo! It's not much compared to the big cities but it has it's own unique charm and warmth! The people are friendly and our city isn't overcrowded compared to other places in the world.
I went to the city to do some shopping! My hair was a mess from all of my adventures and I needed some new spray! I recently found out that I am allergic to certain types of spray. Now that's a cruel allergy to add to my list of allergies I already had.😂 30, you're really doing things to me and my body! Fingers crossed it only gets better from here on because I believe in myself like that! A part of practicing self-love for me has become taking care of my body. That's why I went straight to Ketmien to get my hands on those beauty products!🛒They have a lot of good local and international beauty products, soaps, shampoos, conditioners, etc. Of course, they are also known for selling make-up, nail polish, and other products to help maintain that glowing physique for men and women. I love the fact that they have a special section for products made in Suriname. Most of these products are made with natural herbs that are supposed to be good for the skin. I ended up buying a soap bar that has turmeric, maripa oil, and shea butter in it. The package said that it's good for removing dark spots. Now that was no form of false advertising! I tried it out on my black spots and after a few days, I noticed some improvements. My body is strange, I love living in a tropical country where I can go on adventures, but turns out I am allergic to mosquitos. When those bloodsuckers come at me, I get bumps that leave behind a dark spot.😫On top of that, those mosquitos somehow always find me delicious! I looked around in Ketmien and found a few things I liked. Like the touch of heaven scent oil. It also has Maripa oil in it and has benefits for the skin. In case you guys are confused about what Maripa oil is, I made a video about how Maripa oil is made in the village of Futu Na Kba on my channel. I have some more upcoming adventures where I'll be sharing stories about the village of Futu Na Kba. If you're subscribed, I know that's one adventure in the tropical rainforest of Suriname that you won't miss!😍 There was this beautiful fountain in Ketmien that reminded me of the interior of Suriname. The text read Authentic SU. SU is supposed to be a local abbreviation for the word Suriname, although the correct country code is SR. The use of SU has become so popular that this is often overlooked. When I finished my shopping in KetMien we went to Digital World. They had a sale going on there and I had to pick up a few things for my uncle.
A pair of cool headphones caught my attention! They were pink and orange, and normally I'm not the type to go for the super girly look! But when you have a little brother, each pair of headphones and Bluetooth speaker that looks cool and isn't girly becomes his property.😂Now you know why I also have a Bluetooth speaker that's shaped like a handbag! It's the only one that didn't end up becoming his property. I'll do a review about the Bluetooth headphones on my blog in the future! Right next to Digitial World, you have Lucky Store! Their store looked so attractive from the inside that I had to check it out. I made a picture of the Lucky Store sign in the Dominee straat for you guys. That way you have an idea of what the streets in Paramaribo look like. I am very aware of the fact that most of my audience hasn't seen Suriname yet! But it's okay, I'm here to share that warmth and to give you a peek at what it's like in this part of the world!😎💓Whenever I come across foreigners they always have this distorted image of my country. Yes, we have questionable leaders and a rocky history! But there is more to Suriname than that! And no, it doesn't look like Narcos Saints. The plot and narrattion does get some things right. Like the police cars or uniform. But the country they filmed it in, well let's say there is a big difference between Suriname and Santo Domingo. Each has its own unique beauty. Although I did observe that both countries have friendly and nice people.✊Lucky Store has a nice design that enables you to have your eyes on the street while shopping. Not that I have the time to be nosy, compared to some of my fellow people.👀😂But it does add to the ambiance! They have everything that has to do with beauty in this part of their store. From hair products to perfumes and even weaves! They thought of all the female beauty needs. Some of the products they had were also in KetMien and my inner Chinese couldn't help but notice that they were cheaper in the first store I visited. On the other hand, Lucky Store does have a larger collection that requires more space to upkeep and maintain. The only thing I got there was rubbing ice and a hair wrap to keep these curls from clitting all the time! There was a good deal on the rubbing ice and it was as if my sixth sense had picked up that I'd need a big jar. Not for the cold that I had, but for what would happen to my back after that.😂😓I made a wrong movement and heard my back go crack! After that it was stuck and that tub of rubbing Ice became my best friend through the pain.👀😅 When I had finished looking around in Lucky Store, Dojo saw me for a few seconds. They just didn't have anything to my taste! Besides a girl with my chest shopping there, what was I thinking? My stomach was rumbling and I managed to get some hotdogs from Broodje Struggle. That's the name of this hotdog stand that has been here for years. Their name means struggle bread or sandwich in Sranangtongo. They sell awesome hotdogs.🌭 Just like that struggle hotdog my wallet was already suffering from the situation in Suriname, so it was time to go back home and check out my haul. I made a video of my adventure to share with you as usual! I hope you enjoy it, and until our next adventure right here on Story Time Productions.💓 Visit my merchandise store to check out my new "Out of this world" merchandise collection!💕But that's something I'll tell you about in another Story Time episode.
