The Silent Weight: When the Heart Hurts More Than the Body

The Silent Weight: When the Heart Hurts More Than the Body   "The pain of the heart is stronger than the pain of the body." We live in a world that is obsessed with physical healing. We have gyms for our muscles, medicine for our fevers, and bandages for our scrapes. But what do we do when the injury is invisible? As an entrepreneur and someone who spends a lot of time roaming the quiet corners of Suriname, I’ve realized that you can walk ten miles through the bush and feel less exhausted than you do after one hour of heartbreak or betrayal. The body heals with time, but the heart? The heart requires a different kind of bravery. The Invisible Ache A broken bone is a solid thing, A heavy cast, a winter’s sting. The blood will clot, the skin will mend, A physical break we can comprehend. But the heart is a chamber of liquid fire, A tangled web of old desire. When it bruises, there is no purple stain, Just a hollow echo, a silent rain. You can run from the cold, you can hide f...

Blogger notes: Happy Chinese New Year of the tiger

Happy Chinese New Year of the Tiger!

Today is the Chinese new year of the tiger, and since I have ancestors from around the world I want to wish all of my readers and supporters a happy new year. Thank you for sticking with me through the Story Time journey even when this blog has changed so many times. That is something that will just keep happening as we grow and evolve in life.  I want to wish all my readers from each corner of the world a prosperous blessed and happy Chinese New Year.
This year I want to encourage all of you to embrace the journey of self-love.  If the pandemic has thought us one thing it is that life is short. We should treasure the moments that we experience because we have no way of knowing if the world can ever be the same again.  Let's start working on ourselves more. If we do what we can to evolve our life in a way that we become the better version of ourselves, we are automatically making a part of the world better. We humans forget that we play a major role in nature. Instead of destroying it, we could heal and protect it

But I am not here to give you guys a philosophical lecture today. We will leave that for the self-love posts. I want to thank all my fans, readers, supporters followers, and anyone on my team for standing by me through these years. I have lived such a diverse life, and I have always had the luck to meet the right people in my life. The people that support me in different parts of my life. Some help me with my projects, some organizations provide me the tools to further grow, and some people simply share their love and warmth with me. It doesn't matter in which part of the world I come to find myself, my heart is always touched by the love that people share with me. At the end that is what matters the most, of course, respect my boundaries!  The older I become and the more people I meet, I also realize that there are some pretty amazing people in the world, who just have been hurt.  Now being hurt is never an excuse for bad behavior, but here at Story Time, we share love, forgiveness, and understanding with the world.  I know that this year, I will keep watering myself. Because as an empty cup you cannot pour for others.  The good news is, I have been showing up more in the world. Looks back on all the international things that I have participated in. Some I have shared on my blog, some I haven't. I don't like bragging, I don't like to point it out. I always say power doesn't speak it acts. I just want to show my appreciation for the opportunities, they help brush my skills. It's what I will do with those skills while I am in Suriname that matters.  I want to tell all the kids that if you are a dreamer, an idealist, or different it's okay. All the great people in the history of the world started out as crazy dreamers.  Just follow your heart and do what makes you happy.  Don't do it to prove a point to the world, do it because you know you can! Never doubt yourself, if I had to l listen to what people thought I could or could not become I wouldn't even have accomplished as much as I have. It's not about the accomplishments, but the journey.  I can say one thing I am enjoying every step of the journey and I hope that you guys will do the same. As this New Year of the Tiger starts, be as fierce as the Tiger! Don't be afraid to go out in the world and to hunt your dreams!  Be fearless when you confront this year!  Don't listen to all the people that tell you that you can't because it's difficult!  Instead look at all the things that you can do, to make it possible.  Yes, the Queen is giving you royal advice today! Another piece of royal advice is to find balance and to take care of yourself first. I had the opportunity to partner up with some awesome organizations abroad to do great projects here. But I have to put that on hold, this one is on me. Because this Queen is so busy she needs to take regular breaks. You can't make your part of the world better if you aren't standing strong on your own two feet.  As soon as I regain some fresh energy and have more available time I will be picking up those projects. Those were extra deadlines that I didn't need at the moment.  What can we learn from this?  Know when you have enough on your plate when you chase your goals. Finish your meal, before you go looking for dessert. I love you guys and the support that you give me.  I do have some more good news to share with you, I just launched my new book.  If you haven't jumped onto the Story Time U.F.O. yet make sure you do. Because I will be sharing my book details on my blog soon.  I hope you all enjoy the new start of this year of the Tiger. I know I did, and I had fun watching the fireworks last night.   Cheers to positive vibes, positive energy, and a great year ahead of us. I am rooting for all of you! Until the next Story Time my friends!
