Beni's Christmas Palace In Suriname

Beni's Christmas Palace In Suriname Just like in the photo above this text, I am okay but I am not completely okay. I feel awful on the inside and for a long time it was difficult to find the motivation to return to blogging.  Tomorrow's Christmas, so I mustered all of my strength to at least finish another episode. I've been gone for a while because as usual, life got hectic. But this time in a bad way! As you guys know a while ago I started a company in Suriname. Most of my days were spent creating Story Time episodes, working, doing social work or going along to get a taste of the field.  When we go to clients, sometimes I get to see awesome places. Or in between on our journeys we tend to make pitstops. This Story Time episode is supposed to be about my visit to Beni's Christmas palace. But let me tell you about what happened after that first. Just so you can understand how my Christmas spirit, transformed in the energy of mourning. People see the good, but I'l...

Pizza Dinner At Ettore's

 Pizza Dinner At Ettore's

"Shachem Lieuw At Ettore's Pizza at Courtyard by Marriott in Paramaribo"

Welcome back to another Story Time foodie adventure in tropical Paramaribo. On the coast of South America, the rainy season has returned. A relief after witnessing the rivers go dry in Suriname.😤 On this particular night, I remember the rain pouring all night. That's how I knew that the rainy season was about to begin. My friends visited me and we went on an unexpected food adventure! Since we were all craving Pizza, we decided to go to Ettore's Pizza. It's the authentic Italian Pizza restaurant located on the property of Hotel Courtyard by Marriott in Paramaribo.  When we walked in, it stopped pouring rain. I took that as a sign from the Gods that we were about to be blessed with some warm and delicious food. Despite the rainy weather, many people were still seated at the restaurants in the backyard of Courtyard by Marriott in Paramaribo. A hostess seated us and we received the menu in our hand. I like the cozy interior design of Ettore's. There are elements everywhere that highlight the Italian culinary origin of Ettore's. The open-air kitchen gave an authentic view of the Pizza oven where all the delicious magic happens. The ceiling had vines and hanging grapes to add to the restaurant's charming decor. When the waitress returned my friends and I had already decided what we wanted to order from their diverse menu. We ordered the Quattro Formaggi. According to Ettore's menu, the Quattro Formaggi is a classic Italian Pizza. This pizza is extra cheesy! The dish consists of four different cheeses. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't recommend eating much in one sitting. Since the salt can climb to your head. The Quatro Formaggi was beautiful and it's strong cheesy aroma spread in our surroundings.

The chicken balanced out some of that cheese. But after two slices, I had enough salty flavors bursting in my mouth. This is truly a dish that is meant to be shared.  The affogato made it to my table just in time! I poured my espresso coffee over a scoop of ice cream and the perfect blend to liberate my tastebuds was born. We also ordered another pizza. I read online that eating salmon is good for the body. That's why I try to incorporate salmon more into my diet. When I saw the salmon pizza with apple slices on the menu, I just could not resist!😂 Don't crucify me for being a fruit lover. If I enjoy eating Pizza with pineapple, you can bet that I am going to enjoy pizza with apple slices! Both Pizza's arrived at our table at the same time. I have to admit that the service at Courtyard by Marriott in Paramaribo is fast!

The salmon pizza was gorgeous!😍 I guess this is what they mean when they say food is a love language. Okay, I said that! Quote me on it, for once.😂 It was a windy and cold night in tropical Paramaribo. The music in the background was calming and subtle. The air was filled with conversations from laughing guests. In Suriname, these moments that we get to share with the people in our lives are the ones I cherish the most. It doesn't matter how long our bond lasted or will last, I just acknowledge that it's a part of my journey. My blog helps me keep those memories alive! These stories become a part of the memories I leave behind for the world. However, from your perspective, it might translate into another Story. Either way, it's Story Time in Suriname!
