Beni's Christmas Palace In Suriname

Beni's Christmas Palace In Suriname Just like in the photo above this text, I am okay but I am not completely okay. I feel awful on the inside and for a long time it was difficult to find the motivation to return to blogging.  Tomorrow's Christmas, so I mustered all of my strength to at least finish another episode. I've been gone for a while because as usual, life got hectic. But this time in a bad way! As you guys know a while ago I started a company in Suriname. Most of my days were spent creating Story Time episodes, working, doing social work or going along to get a taste of the field.  When we go to clients, sometimes I get to see awesome places. Or in between on our journeys we tend to make pitstops. This Story Time episode is supposed to be about my visit to Beni's Christmas palace. But let me tell you about what happened after that first. Just so you can understand how my Christmas spirit, transformed in the energy of mourning. People see the good, but I'l...

Vinay Kalpoe

             Story Time: Vinay Kalpoe

Hello my dearest Story Time readers from around the world, how have you been? I have been busy these days, but more on that in my next blogger notes episode! If you don't want to miss any of my stories make sure you jump onto my Story Time U.F.O and join the Story Time tribe.  In today's Story Time episode, I want to introduce to you guys a good friend of mine. The entertainer and musician Vinay Kalpoe.

                                     Who is Vinay Kalpoe?

Vinay Kalpoe is 28 years old and born in the Netherlands. He has a passion for sports, music, and nature.  I asked Vinay how his interest in music began? "  Ever since I was a child I was busy with music. It started with drumming, I used to sing for fun, but I never thought of really singing! My passion was to become a professional soccer player.  I get inspiration for my music from classical Indian music and I try to combine that with Hindi rock ballads. In the music, there isn't one single inspiration source! You can get inspiration from all kinds of music. " Some of Vinay's favorite numbers to sing during his performances are; Tere Deewani, Oh mere dil ke chain, and Tum hi ho. I had to ask who some of his favorite artists are and Vinay said that they were; Michael Jackson, Arjit Singh, Freddy Mercury, Nusrath Fateh Ali Khan, and Kailash Kher. " I want to experiment with songs in different languages. Flamingo music seems to be an interesting challenge. After I didn't see a future in my soccer career anymore something happened that made me decide to start a music career. The same year that I stopped with soccer, I participated in a musical in Suriname. The drummer ( Dennis Chamman) from the live band that was playing at that moment said during the soundcheck can you sing a song for a moment. I started singing and then he stopped playing and told me " You need to start singing man!" and that is how it started.  But the first time that I performed was when I was 7 years old. I was at a ritual party of a cousin of mine. I was young and walked up to the band to ask them if I was allowed to sing.  When they gave me permission I began to sing the song Wo Chali from Bombay Vikings.  My first performance in front of a large crowd was in 2015 in the World Goru, Theather. It was during the show of Shreya Ghoshal ( singer from India). In my experience, it was wonderful to perform on a podium in front of 5,000 people.  That was the moment that I started to really enjoy performing.  I recorded some songs like Enna sona, Dil Kya Kare, Khamoshiyan, Tere sang yara, Oh mere dil ke chain ijazat, Main tera boyfriend, Teri Deewani, Dua and Suno na sange mar mar" If You Guys Want to Keep track of Vinay Kalpoe, you can follow him on Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, and soon on Spotify. I will be inserting one of his songs on YouTube at the end of this post.  " I haven't made my own style heard yet, that will happen when I release my own songs.  To the young kids who want to develop their talents, I would like to advise them to keep practicing as often as they can.  And make sure that you correct yourself.  Because you need to be able to recognize your own mistakes. That is how you will keep improving and grow stronger. Ever since I was a kid in my family I was the entertainer and I enjoyed entertaining people.  My dad told me to go practice at my uncle Glenn Kallasingh. My uncle introduced me to the Indian classical style Drupad. This really did me good and without these lessons, I would never learn so much from an ocean that still harbors more wisdom. The next single that I will be releasing is a surprise. But I can promise that it will be my own song." I hope you guys enjoyed learning a bit more about Vinay Kalpoe. Enjoy the music video from the cover song Teri Deewani/ Bheegi Bheegi and I cannot wait to see you again right here on Story Time.
