Eid at Javaweg: A Cultural Journey Through Suriname 🌙✨ Hello everyone! Shachem Lieuw here from Story Time Productions . I am so excited to finally share a special piece of my backlog with you all. As I continue to upload my collection of adventures, today we are diving deep into the vibrant, soul-stirring celebration of Eid al-Fitr at Javaweg! Celebrating Eid in Suriname 🕌 In Suriname, Eid al-Fitr is a beautiful testament to our multicultural harmony. This year, the festivities brought the Javanese community together in a display of faith, joy, and unity. It’s more than just a holiday; it’s a time for reflection, gratitude, and coming together with family and friends to celebrate the end of the fasting month. Late Night Dinner At Tori Oso Paramaribo Under The Super Blue Moon
Late Night Dinner At Tori Oso Paramaribo Under The Super Blue Moon
Hello, my Dearest Story Time friends from around the world. How are you guys doing? I'm still afloat and making the best of life. This time I'm taking you guys on another food adventure at Tori Oso in Paramaribo. We're revisiting this cafe for a late-night dinner under the super blue moon. Tori Oso is famous for its burgers, so we decided to try out some of its other dishes to review for you. When we got in, it was crowded. Sometimes the places are also rented out for parties and other events. This was one of those nights, but we still managed to find seats in almost the whole house (oso means 'house' in Sranang Tongo). I ordered a pina colada because I loved the daiquiri-infused one they gave me last time.
🧉 But this time the pina colada was different. It came in a smaller glass and included a slice of orange. Despite that, it tasted good, and the orange slice was sweet. We also ordered some loaded cheese fries, but instead of shrimp, we opted for the BBQ chicken option. It was really cheesy, and we got to film a nice cheese pull for you guys. But personally, we thought that the loaded cheese fries with shrimp tasted better. 🍤The waitress asked us what we wanted to order next, and we chose the Prisiri (Prisiri means "fun" in Sranang Tongo) chicken burger and the Trafasi burger (Trafasi means "different" or "another way" in Sranang Tongo). She took down our order, and we could hear the staff preparing our food in the kitchen from where we were sitting. You could hear the satisfying sizzle of the meat patties hitting the grill. 🤤 Our food arrived on the table. My Trafasi burger arrived with an extra side of shrimp that I ordered. The shrimp were juicy and nicely cooked. I liked that they were jumbo-sized shrimps.😍 The Prisiri chicken burger had caramelized onions on top, which made the burger taste a lot better. I had asked for Jalapenos in the Trafasi burger, and they were there. I just barely tasted them with those two fat patties in the burger buns. Maybe they should have added more Jalapenos.
