Ditch the Cashpoint: Why Foreigners Should Skip the Cashpoint ATMs in Suriname

Ditch the Cashpoint: Why Foreigners Should Skip the Cashpoint ATMs in Suriname (By Shachem Lieuw, Story Time Productions) Hey there, fellow travelers. Shachem here, and let me tell you, I've been bursting to share this with you for ages. Finally, the stars aligned, and I have a moment to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard, as it were). Lately, I've been seeing an increasing number of comments on social media from visitors like yourselves complaining about problems using their Mastercards and Visa cards in Suriname. The struggles are real, and I hear you. The truth is, while we're making progress, international Mastercards and Visas aren't accepted everywhere in this beautiful country. You'll find some high-end hotels and restaurants catering to tourists will gladly swipe your card. But don't expect the same level of acceptance when you're exploring smaller businesses, local markets, or venturing outside the main tourist hubs. It's not a universal...

Saroo Food

             Story Time:  Saroo Food Suriname

Hello my dearest Story Time readers, how have you been? I hope you guys enjoyed a relaxing Easter weekend. I went on quite a couple of adventures that I will be sharing with you soon. If you don't want to miss out on any of my adventures, feel free to jump onto the Story Time U.F.O., that way we can abduct you to join us on each and every Story Time adventure that we take. Glad to have you aboard, and welcome to the Story Time tribe.  Do you guys like the view in the picture? I think that the lake here is peaceful and breathtaking. This picture was made in Tourtonne garden Paramaribo Noord just in case you were wondering. Don't mind my tired face, that is what happens when you take as many adventures as I do.  In today's Story Time I want to talk to you guys about another food location that is worth a visit whenever you are traveling in Suriname, South America! The place is called Saroo foods.  It's located on the Highway and you can't really miss it, there is a big sign with the restaurant's name on it, and it's located in between a Chinese restaurant and a gas station.  The old Saroo used to be a roti shop, and they had tasty roti. Back then they were located in the building where the Chinese restaurant is now located. I like the wooden touch, and the place certainly has potential if they flare it up a bit more. It does give off wooden, Amazone rainforest vibes and that is a good thing. To my surprise the place get's really crowded. Even when I arrived there were already people waiting outside for their orders. That is a good sign because if you see a lot of customers that's when you know that the food is good. Nowadays Saroo Foods no longer serves Indian food, instead, they serve shoarma, fries, burgers, and even some lamb dishes. This was the first time that I was going to try food from the new Saroo Food location, so I decided to go for the spicy chicken burger combo. I was not disappointed, the burger is well seasoned and it went down without any difficulties. That means it passed the stomach test, and the tastebud test.  The fries were also well baked. The fries from Saroo food weren't too soft and not too crunchy either. It was just perfect for me and the sauce made it complete. You even get a mini coke along with your combo. I ended up paying SRD160,- for the spicy chicken burger combo.  In $, you could say I paid a bit more than $7,- for the combo. I thought they would add a piece of meat to my combo, but apparently, that was false advertising. But overall I cannot complain about the quality of the food. My stomach was satisfied, and that's really what it is all about.  I made another video for you guys to enjoy. Enjoy my vlog where I visit Saroo food and I can't wait to share more stories with you guys right here on Story Time!
