Beni's Christmas Palace In Suriname

Beni's Christmas Palace In Suriname Just like in the photo above this text, I am okay but I am not completely okay. I feel awful on the inside and for a long time it was difficult to find the motivation to return to blogging.  Tomorrow's Christmas, so I mustered all of my strength to at least finish another episode. I've been gone for a while because as usual, life got hectic. But this time in a bad way! As you guys know a while ago I started a company in Suriname. Most of my days were spent creating Story Time episodes, working, doing social work or going along to get a taste of the field.  When we go to clients, sometimes I get to see awesome places. Or in between on our journeys we tend to make pitstops. This Story Time episode is supposed to be about my visit to Beni's Christmas palace. But let me tell you about what happened after that first. Just so you can understand how my Christmas spirit, transformed in the energy of mourning. People see the good, but I'l...

Noodle Bar and private cocktail tasting

Story Time: Tangelo's Noodle bar and Boba during the day, private cocktail tasting from Lieuw's Catering Service N.V during the night

Hello my dearest Story Time readers, how have you been? I am so excited to share this delicious food story with you. That's why I had to finish this article as soon as possible.  If you don't want to miss any of my stories in the future make sure you jump onto the Story Time U.F.O.! I want to wish all of you a happy mental health awareness month. I say happy because mental health is about prioritizing your happiness and well-being. Something that self-love teaches us. If you want to know more about self-love and join me on my journey go ahead and read my Self-love articles.  I hope you enjoy the heartfelt advice that I share with you.  I will be posting more articles regarding mental health and how self-love can help us improve our mental health and overall wellbeing. But this is a foodie and travel article. So I want to share with you the wonderful experience that I had during Tangelo's Noodle Bar & Bubble Tea day.  Don't worry I got the entire thing on video for you guys to enjoy.  I went with my friends and we each ordered a different item from the menu. In the video, we talk about our experience and what we thought about the food. I ordered the mango milk tea with jelly and I was not disappointed. Kara ordered the Mango with Boba and Stew had the Tarro with Boba.

I loved the Mango Jelly milk tea that I had, it's quite addictive.  This is actually one of the better mango milk teas that I have had in Suriname. The others who ordered their drinks with boba thought that it was too hard to chew on.  We also ordered some pina coladas. It was good but not as good as the one I had at Courtyard by Marriot Paramaribo.  For food, I had the Mr. Miyagi Ramen soup, which contains an aromatic broth topped with corn, Tofu, Eggs, Poku mushrooms, Vegetables, Nori, and Ramen noodles. For each dish, you have the option to choose from different add-ons. I added the garlic oyster shrimp to my dish. It's a bit more pricey, but I enjoyed every bite. It was worth it, especially the broth. Just thinking back on those sweet vegetables and that egg in it while I am writing this has got me drooling.  Stew ordered the Jakarta Hot Hot Hot that has Rawit peppers, Tamarind, sweet chili, and lemon grass in it. It wasn't as spicey as he expected it to be. For his ad on he chose the Char Sui chicken strips. My good friend Kara ordered the Mr. Miyagi Wokkin noodles that have stir-fried ramen noodles with oriental greens tossed in Tangelo their homemade sauces and proteins.  He added the BBQ Teriyaki beef short ribs to his meal. I loved the fact that Tangelo had a live cooking station where they prepared the meals for this event. What we thought of our meal you can watch in this fun video that I made for you guys. After that, we went to a small private tasting event with a bartender from Lieuw's Catering Service N.V. In a very private and small group, we got to enjoy these delicious mojitos and strawberry daiquiris. I am not saying that because my dad owns the company.  I am saying it because it was really good and I got hooked to them all night. Overall we had a fun day filled with good food and wonderful drinks. The fun we brought along made the memories even more everlasting. During the private tasting, we got served some more food. We had bami, with rice, pom, chicken, and some cucumbers. Typical delicious Surinamese food. I can't wait to share my other stories with you guys. Until next time right here on Story Time.
