Letter From The Past: The Star and the Spreadsheet

Letter From The Past: The Star and the Spreadsheet 🖋️✨ Welcome back to Story Time Productions . In Part 1, we saw the impossible: Elara, a burnt-out project manager from 2026, and Julian, a restless Duke from 1742, connected through a "cursed" iron mailbox. One dropped an LED flashlight; the other found a fallen star. Now, the skepticism ends, and the education begins. Here is Part 2: The Exchange of Worlds. In case you missed part 1, read it here first! The Year of Living Dangerously Elara sat on her porch, staring at the yellow legal pad. Her logical, PM-trained brain was screaming Error 404 , but the heavy parchment in her hand—smelling of woodsmoke and beeswax—was undeniable. “It’s 2026, Julian,” she wrote, her hand shaking. “I’m not a spirit, and I’m not a goddess. I’m just... from a future you wouldn't believe. That 'star' in your hand? It’s called a battery. It will die eventually. And trust me, your 'HR nightmare' harem is the least of your worr...

Christmas Dinner At Kokobana In Paramaribo

Christmas Dinner At Kokobana In Paramaribo

" DJ playing in restaurant Kokobana Paramaribo on a Saturday night."

A Christmas Eve Reflection

Hello, my dearest Story Time friends from around the world! 💖 Tomorrow is Christmas, and I'm happy to be back with another foodie and travel episode. 🎄🎅🤶 How are you guys planning on spending the holidays?

As a Surinamese person, Christmas means gaining a few extra pounds for me! 😉😂 We Surinamese people love to eat. If you're new here, don't forget to hop on my Story Time U.F.O. by subscribing. That way, you'll be the first to receive my adventures and stories straight to your inbox.

Gasp! Excuse me as I have to take a deep breath to reflect on how fast time went by. We're already in December, and in a few days, the year will come to a close. 🎆🎇👀 I want to thank all of you for supporting my blogging journey this year. Your views kept motivating me to create new content and to elevate my creative expression! 🍷

Reflecting on what my blog has become, I'm only grateful for the journey as I continue to have faith in the future. Now, that's something we can drink to as we embrace the days ahead.

I got taken out for dinner unexpectedly on a Saturday night. The place I'm writing about isn't an unfamiliar restaurant here on Story Time. I wrote an article about them a long time ago, and I recall it being one of the articles that attracted several new readers to my blog. Back then, I was just starting to get the hang of blogging. It just goes to show that the more you practice your craft, the better you become at it. 😉

The city was crowded! December in Paramaribo is known as the city's best time. We even made it onto CNN's list of the top 10 New Year's destinations. What can I say? My people know how to party. When you arrive in Paramaribo Noord, you can see the December parties taking place. Expect to be stuck in traffic for hours during this time of year!

I walked into Kokobana, and live music was playing. We found a seat, and once we were settled, the waiter arrived to take our orders. They had a special Christmas menu, and I've added some pictures of it in my vlog. The staff was attentive, and we didn't have to wait long for service. I ordered a mudslide cocktail and the Christmas chicken. My friend wanted the Amaretto sour and chicken pasta. Since I have a sweet tooth, I had to get something for dessert. I ordered the Baileys tiramisu cake, figuring it would pair well with the mudslide cocktail, which also contains Baileys. 😻😋 I was getting spoiled for Christmas, so letting dessert slide by me certainly wasn't an option! 😝

Right in front of us, traffic was jammed with people trying to get by. Some were hanging out on the streets, playing loud music as they brought out their own food and drinks to hang out in Paramaribo. This is typical nightlife and recreation in Suriname. The DJ that Kokobana had hired was playing great music that kept us busy and entertained while we waited. It didn't take long for the food to be served at our table! As usual, we had no complaints. The food at Kokobana was delicious.

I recommend that you give this place a try on your travels to Suriname. It's located on Wilhelmina Street in Paramaribo. In this area of the city, you'll also find a lot of other food and shopping options. Are you planning to travel for foodie adventures soon? Visit Expedia for amazing travel deals.
