Masala Shrimp From Locacion In Paramaribo
Hello, fellow foodies! ✐ It feels amazing to cast out another Story Time episode into the world. π
Hey, at least I am striking another one of my to-do list, which can get pretty intense if you live a life as diverse as mine. π
So don't mind me if I enjoy diving into adventures, stories, and fantasy! It's some of the parts of my essence that I love sharing with others.
Sharing experiences is how we maintain our relationships with those we care about. Sometimes that's how you discover the beauty of life. It's hidden in the moments we create and the experiences we share. And if you're one to have an open mind, you never know what will bloom into your reality. ππ
Speaking of sharing experiences, Kara dragged me on another foodie adventure.π
Sometimes he's a bigger foodie than I am. π No wonder he mostly ends up behind the grill or in the kitchen at most of our foodie get-togethers.π That's why he's nicknamed the Grizzly Bear or Lord MeatLoaf. π
He talked me into going along on one of his food hunts to a place located in Paramaribo Noord. On the Anamoestraat (straat=dutch for street), you'll find a cozy restaurant and bar named Locacion.
They have a pool table inside. I know it's been a while since I've played pool. Unfortunately, we only had time for a short visit.
The restaurant offers a variety of local Surinamese dishes. Believe me, it's as local as you can get! Just putting that information out there for those looking for an authentic, flavorful experience during their holidays in Suriname.ππ€€
As a shrimp lover, I had to try their Masala Shrimp with rice. Surinamese people love rice! It's something we all have in common. π
Sure, we'll eat our cassava and other earth fruits. Not even the breadfruit on our trees is safe from the Surinamese pot. However, rice is a popular ingredient you'll find in every kitchen, in every corner of this tropical country.
While waiting for our food order, we tried out their chicken satay. With one bite, I was hooked!π The meat was juicy, soft, and flavorful. The sweet ketjap sambal was a delightful treat for my taste buds.
It didn't take long for my food to arrive. We brought it back with us. Once I got home, I opened the container. The golden masala shrimp, served on top of a pile of white rice, was as delicious as it looked. It didn't taste like greasy fast food. Each bite was packed with Surinamese home-cooking.
I made a vlog of our mini foodie adventure. Enjoy watching. π Don't worry, as long as I'm alive, you can count on more Story Time episodes. π
