Falling In Love With Pretty Eyes from Afar

A colorful cartoon-style illustration of a girl with curly brown hair standing in an art gallery, looking up with a notebook in hand. On the wall in front of her are three beautifully framed, glowing paintings that each focus solely on a pair of expressive eyes: one pair is warm amber, one is a starlight blue, and one is an earthen green, representing her three crushes.

Somewhere in the world, there lives a young, vibrant, but shy woman. Her name is Lucy! During a warm autumn evening, Lucy couldn't help but twist and turn in her bed. Deeply immersed in her dream, she was mesmerized by 3 pairs of eyes. The eyes were beautifully painted on canvases. In her dream, she visited a museum. The museum had many canvases with all kinds of eyes painted on them. But none of those eyes captured her attention like the 3 pairs in the center of the hall. All the other eyes faded from her sight as she sank in the beauty of the 3 master pieces in front of her. She didn't dare step closer, because she was afraid to somehow ruin the beauties displayed in front of her.

Some part of her knew she was dreaming, but even in her dreams, she recognized those 3 eyes anywhere.  She looked into the amber, warm eyes and recognized the warmth of an old friend she had a crush on. He was her first crush! Or at least, she sees him as a friend. He probably knows her as the weird girl who kept staring at him from a distance during classes. Whenever she stared into his eyes, it reminded her of a weaker version of herself. The geeky anti-social girl who's the total opposite of the woman she is today! A girl whom not many people have known. That version of herself had no idea that her suffering would become the foundation of Lucy's strength. She was never intimidated by David's amber warm eyes never intimidated her.

Instead, they kept luring her out of her turtle shell. Staring into his eyes was like looking at a bug zapper! Only in this case, poor Lucy was the bug. She kept getting zapped by her strong emotions for him. Hovering close, but never close enough to be noticed. She was the weird kid, and he was the one everyone wanted to be friends with. Staring at the portrait of his eyes, Lucy experienced a painful nostalgia. Now that she's 26, she realizes that she mistook friendship for love. Looking back, she realized how silly her crush was.

Maybe she liked him because he'd actually talk to her. She did love how smart he was and how much he'd make her laugh. She knew she was born weird, but with him, it felt safe to be weird. He didn't judge her the same way other people usually did. The second portrait has starlight blue eyes! They were intoxicating to watch! Their blue glow hinted at the coldness of their owner.

Samuel was filled with passion, ambition, and spark! She had found him fascinating from the moment they met. Looking into his eyes from afar is her secret addiction. He was charming, handsome, and a smooth talker! Samuel thinks she likes him for his coldness. Although the coldness she detected in his piercing blue eyes was sharp enough to cut through her heart, it wasn't the reason for her obsession. Instead, she was obsessed with his mind and soul! In all the years they messed around, she didn't dare to admit that she saw divine sparks in his eyes.

Samuel wasn't perfect! He had many great qualities, but he was always transparent about his emotional availability.  He was all about fun, games, and the thrill of the chase. Lucy didn't mind because she strongly believes that you can't control a person.

They should have the freedom to do what they want. She was always highly aware that life is short. So why should she stand in the way of Samuel's path to self-discovery? She never expected anything from him!

She'd rather experience the thrill of looking into his eyes. Reading his energy, his heart, his soul like pages from a book.  In Lucy's eyes, there were no secrets. Only the reflection of those she strongly admired. She admired Samuel for what she saw in his eyes. Not for the image he painted, or the masks he wore. For a large part of her life, she admired him from a distance.

Now, once again, his eyes haunted her dreams. Then she remembered that she's just as twisted as Samuel. Both are ambitious people with no desire to be controlled.

She looks away, not because she is afraid of him. She fears ruining what they both love. She smiles when she catches herself trying to escape his gaze. In his version of their love story, he's the villain. But Lucy carries a grave secret! She can be the villain of her own world.

Samuel always had his own philosophy on masculinity, relationship dynamics, and spirituality. Entertained by the blueprint, he lay in front of her she kept staring. Taking a peek like a thief, knowing she was there just for the show! The masterpiece she found in his soul captivated her heart. The tones in his voice carried vibrations tuned to her heart. It was as if eyes held secrets similar to hers. She was the hesitant female Sherlock Holmes, and he was another fun case solved!

Lucy lived in her own world! You could say, her version of Bakker Street is a tale that will have you holding tight to your seat! She shook her head and put anything related to Samuel out of her mind.

Her shoulders become less tense, and she feels the gaze of the third pair of eyes. Alan wasn't her usual type. Although he had many things in common with her type. One of the many ironic things in Lucy's life. He always watched out for her, even though he knew he couldn't have her.

His obsession with her was entertaining and fed her confidence. She hated it, but she couldn't imagine living without it!

He was loyal, and when she looked into the portrait of his eyes, she saw potential, ambition, and stability. Alan wasn't a saint either. He was as sour as a lemon! When he met Lucy, he loved bragging about having multiple girlfriends at the same time.

She didn't care because once again, she was there for the mystery. Another mystery to solve before getting mesmerized by the next mission. But once his obsession with her took control, he was surprisingly dependent, loyal, and assisting. She wouldn't call him a lover. But rather the Watson of her adventures. He made life easier, no matter how much he stressed her out! She took a deep breath, acknowledging the deepest truth and secret of her heart.

That's when she decided it was enough and walked away from the display. The bright and colorful gallery turned dark behind her as she walked away from 3 pair of eyes, all gazing at different versions of her.

Her body shapeshifts to take the form of an alien Goddess. She laughs, picks up her weapon, and sits on her throne. Her hidden divine glow was never mocking them. She didn't want to be the masterpiece on display.

Lucy's life is far more complicated! There is a reason she loves hiding in the shadows. She fell in love with pretty eyes from afar, and she was captivated by pretty eyes watching her from afar. Lucy wasn't stupid! She knew that life wasn't meant to be a fairytale.

Fairy tales are stories people create to make you feel better in life. In reality, Prince Charming runs a harem. Lucy wasn't planning on becoming the Empress, managing household affairs while keeping track of concubines. She broke out in a sweat and woke up. She smiled and whispered to herself I'm back in this world.
