Letter From The Past: The Star and the Spreadsheet

Letter From The Past: The Star and the Spreadsheet 🖋️✨ Welcome back to Story Time Productions . In Part 1, we saw the impossible: Elara, a burnt-out project manager from 2026, and Julian, a restless Duke from 1742, connected through a "cursed" iron mailbox. One dropped an LED flashlight; the other found a fallen star. Now, the skepticism ends, and the education begins. Here is Part 2: The Exchange of Worlds. In case you missed part 1, read it here first! The Year of Living Dangerously Elara sat on her porch, staring at the yellow legal pad. Her logical, PM-trained brain was screaming Error 404 , but the heavy parchment in her hand—smelling of woodsmoke and beeswax—was undeniable. “It’s 2026, Julian,” she wrote, her hand shaking. “I’m not a spirit, and I’m not a goddess. I’m just... from a future you wouldn't believe. That 'star' in your hand? It’s called a battery. It will die eventually. And trust me, your 'HR nightmare' harem is the least of your worr...

Relaxing at the coffee corner and tasting Chinese cakes from CY coffee

Shachem Lieuw at the Coffee corner

Hello my dearest Story Time readers from around the world, how are you doing today? If you ever happen to find yourself in the tropical heart of the amazon rainforest called Suriname you will most likely end up visiting the Hermitage Mall.  When you are in the Hermitage mall, you will find a cozy coffee spot called the coffee corner. As a coffee lover, the coffee corner makes me feel nostalgic for my childhood years.  I checked out their menu and because it was a hot day in Suriname, as it usually is I ordered their Ice coffee and milkshake. I did enjoy the milkshake but their Ice coffee was too sweet for me. That's coming from someone with a sweet tooth! Nevertheless, the coffee corner has an amazing view and their balcony provides a relaxing atmosphere. It's a good spot if you just want to hang out and relax at the mall alone or with a group of friends.  I paid SRD100,- for a drink which comes down to $4,85. It's a bit more pricey compared to other places in Suriname where you can get some great Ice coffee and milkshakes.  But at the Coffee Corner, you get to relax and sit down while you are served with a friendly smile. After I visited the Coffee Corner I went all the way to Paramaribo Noord.  On Gomper street number 38 there is another famous coffee spot in Suriname that's called CY Coffee. I didn't go there to try their coffee this time, instead, I went for their cakes. The interior decoration is amazing and despite its past hygiene scandal CY Coffee still manages to attract a large crowd.  They bake a lot of Chinese snacks and cakes that are put on display.  I wanted to try their moon cake, matcha cake, and their lotus cake so bad, so I bought all three of them.  My total paid amount came down to $4,-.  I enjoyed the matcha cake and their lotus moon cake but to be honest the other moon cakes weren't really for me.  But I let you be the judge of that when you are visiting Suriname and decide to give CY Coffee a chance.  I put together a little vlog for you guys, I hope you enjoy it and I can't wait to see you again right here on Story Time.  Don't forget to hop onto the Story Time U.F.O. if you don't want to miss any of my stories.
