But hold onto your seats, because things have changed—and for the better! 💨 A Cool Upgrade ❄️ You know how the Surinamese sun likes to turn up the heat? Well, Warung Shaqien has officially leveled up with new indoor AC dining ! It is the perfect sanctuary to escape the tropical blaze while digging into some classic Javanese comfort food. 🍜 The Feast 🍱 We kept it traditional with some of my absolute favorites—the very same dishes you’ve seen during my many Story Time transmissions: Long Tong Tahoe: Perfectly textured and seasoned. 🍢 Saoto Soup with Ketjap: The ultimate soul-soother. 🥣 I also dec...

Bakaaboto river resort in warm tropical Suriname

                                 Story Time:

             Bakaaboto resort in tropical Suriname

Hello, my dearest Story Time friends from around the world. I'm back with another adventure. This time, I'm taking you to Bakaaboto Resort 🏊🌊 in the tropical rainforest of Suriname. This resort is located in Sipaliwini before you reach Atjonie. Suppose you want to visit a beautiful resort in Sipaliwini, where you can experience the unique river rapids that our Amazon jungle has to offer. In that case, Bakabooto Resort is a good option. You could easily do the trip in a day. They also provide houses for rent, if you're interested in staying here. Charcoal is sold at the resort, so you can imagine the number of BBQ fires that have been lit up at Bakaaboto resort. If it's the rainy season, I don't recommend going in a small car. The road you have to bend to reach the resort isn't asphalted like the main road leading all the way to Atjonie. If you are coming from Paramaribo and see a sign that says "Weg naar Bakaaboto" (road to Bakaaboto), turn left and continue driving until you reach the Duwatra Medical Center. Next to that medical center, a road leads to the Bakaaboto resort. I had other matters to attend to first, so I passed the medical resort and the school. At a short distance from the Duwatra medical center, you will reach the river when the road ends. But this Story Time episode is about my adventure at Bakaaboto resort. We were only planning to stay for a short while at this Surinamese resort, so we didn't book a campsite after parking the car and paying our entrance fees. We went to the river with our Icebox and music. The view of the river is breathtaking. My country, Suriname, is indeed beautiful. Here, feela l in loce withe place, th nature, the people, the food, and the love we share with one another.💓😍 The sound of the river rapids brings peace to the mind. You can simply forget about everything else when you're here. The resort adheres to specific rules to protect its environment. Upon entering the resort, you will be required to pay a deposit, after which you will receive a piece of paper outlining all the rules. If you manage to respect those rules, you will receive your deposit back upon departure from the resort. Nothing beats sitting in a river in the middle of the Amazon rainforest on a rock, letting the water massage you, and enjoying the scenery around you. These are the moments that make my country feel like paradise, and once again, I am reminded why we are called the beating heart of the Amazon rainforest. Can you imagine how incredible the view must be during sunset or sunrise? I have been to Bakaaboto before, but it's been a few years since then. The country I live in is so big; I haven't even seen all the places we have. Oftentimes, it takes me a long time before I get to revisit a location. But I am glad that I came back to Baakaboto. I have no regrets and look forward to many more adventures with my friends. We brought our own food and snacks for the trip and made the best out of it in the middle of nature. These experiences are necessary for the mind, body, and soul. It reminds us that we are alive and a part of a larger being. I've created a vlog of my travel adventure for you to enjoy. Don't forget to subscribe to my Story Time blog when you see that Story Time U.F.O. pop-up on your screen.😉👾👽 If you've subscribed, I'll see you soon with another adventure! Who knows where I will end up next in this South American or Caribbean country? 🤔 Sometimes, even I am surprised by all the places life takes me to. However, I am having a fun and loving life while living in the story. That's the way it should be, the fact that I get to share these fun adventures with you guys, I consider to be another blessing.👏
