Dinner By Ramada's Rooftop Dining Room
Hello, my dearest Story Time friends from around the world!π How are you guys doing? I am back with another Story Time episode and this time our food adventure takes us to the dining room of Ramada's rooftop. This hotel located in the heart of Paramaribo has various entertainment and food options. ππ₯When you pass the Ramada casino while walking down the lobby you'll come across the lift. That lift can take you to either the hotel room you booked, their Ogi Teppanyaki & Sushi π£π₯’ bar, or the rooftop restaurant.π½ Once we were in the lift we hit the button for the top floor. In no time we arrived at the rooftop. The last time I visited Ramada's rooftop we had dinner on their outside terras. But it's rainy season right now in Suriname and outside in the pool area it was soaking wet. ☔⛆⛈π¦That's why we decided to have our lunch in the dining room of Ramada's rooftop restaurant. My Story Time friends and I tried different dishes from their menu to review for you guys.
We went during the time of the day when it isn't so crowded in these hotels and restaurants. That's mostly my aim when I create these Story Time episodes for you guys. Although as you will notice in past and upcoming Story Time food and travel adventures, you can't always avoid the crowd. I found myself the perfect spot to sit at! πSomething that probably wouldn't be possible if the Rooftop restaurant was crowded. A friendly waitress walked over to take our order. Each time I visit this hotel and restaurant I notice how most of the staff is foreign. It makes sense since these spots are probably more visited by tourists than locals. We were offered two menus. One that has the mealsπ² and appetizers in it and the other one was for drinks. πΉπ§I included pictures of their menu prices at the end of the video. Make sure to watch my entire Story Time foodie's adventure episode in Paramaribo if you want to see what other food options Ramada's Rooftop has on its menu. They have dishes ranging between $5 and $85 on their menu. I noticed that they have lobster on their menu and it certainly caught my eye! Jump onboard the Story Time U.F.O. by subscribing to my blog and we just might get to try that out in the future. After taking our time to go through the menu, we decided on what we wanted to order.
I went ahead and ordered a Garlic cream shrimp platter and a Caramel Macchiato. Anything with coffee in it hits the spot for a workaholic Queen like me.♕ I got to get that energy from somewhere to be able to keep up with my life, post content for you guys, write books, and wear many hats in the Surinamese society. What can I say, a Queen learns how to be multifunctional. I wasn't feeling myself that day, it was as if I was stuck in a stagnant rut! All my laser-sharp focus could think about was dissecting the habits that prevented me from obtaining my goals. The warrior inside of me is always hungry and for Dinner, at Ramada by Wyndham Princess Hotel and Casino, she was craving shrimp. I love how nicely set up this hotel and restaurant's dining room is. My friends ordered the Sweet chili spicy shrimp platterπ¦ and the Marinated chicken breast. I wanted a Creme Brulee for dessert and Stew had to have the Cafe Amaretto. I'm telling you each Story Time episode I make with my friends, he has to have something with Amaretto on the menu. The drink he fell in love with after we first tried it during our pool day at Courtyard by Marriott Paramaribo.
After the waitress took our order, it didn't take long for our drinks to arrive. I have to admit I loved the luxury of sitting in an almost empty dining room with a gorgeous view of the Palmentuin in Paramaribo behind me. This allowed us to freely create and film our content for you guys without any disturbance. That's why I appreciate it if you subscribe to my Story Time blog when you see the U.F.O. pop up on your screen.πΎπ½πΈ As a Surinamese blogger and writer I appreciate all the support and love that you show my blog, no matter what part of the world you're from! The Caramel Macchiato wasn't too sweet but you could taste the Caramel flavor blend well with the coffee. If you're a coffee lover that likes to travel and practice self-love like me, this is certainly the place to subscribe!
The Cafe Amaretto that Stew ordered came with a floating thick layer of whip cream. I had a taste and it wasn't bad! You could taste the strong flavor of the Amaretto kicking through this delightful coffee drink. Although we both agreed that a scoop of Ice cream would elevate this Amaretto coffee beverage to the next level. Before we had a chance to finish our drinks, the food had already arrived at the table. The garlic cream shrimp π€that arrived in front of me looked and smelled delicious! I quickly tried some of the shrimp with the warm fresh bread. I loved the sauce it was made in. It tasted like shrimp in an Alfredo pasta sauce. The creamy and cheesy shrimp flavors exploded in my mouth with each bite.π€€π |
Marinated chicken breast
The marinated chicken breast that Stew had ordered from the Fajita's menu looked quite impressive! I have to admit that the chicken was well-seasoned. Stew said that it was a bit too dry for his liking, he'd prefer it if the meat of the chicken breast was juicier. He also thinks that as a wrap with all the vegetables, potatoes, and meat on the plate combined it tastes a lot better than when you eat those items individually from the plate.

In the picture above this text, we have the highlight of our table. All three of us agreed that the Spicy Shrimp Platter that Devlin ordered was the best dish on the table!π It was flavorful, well seasoned, and also came with bread.π The sauce of the Spicy Shrimp platter is truly something you have to taste for yourself! If you happen to visit the dining room of Ramada by Wyndham Princess Hotel & Casino their rooftop restaurant during your travels in Suriname I certainly recommend that you give this dish a try! If you're looking for a nice place to enjoy a good meal in the city of Paramaribo with your friends or loved ones this is one restaurant that should be on your list! From the Rooftop of Ramada, you have a beautiful view of the city of Paramaribo. There is also a swimming pool available for hotel guests to use. Don't worry as a local or traveler you don't necessarily need to stay there if you want to try their pool. It's not as deep as I thought it would be, but at the height this building reaches I can understand that! They rent out day swimming passes in case you're interested to take a dip.
Can you imagine having a romantic dinner at the Rooftop in Paramaribo while enjoying this gorgeous view of the Suriname River? If you're looking for date night Ideas in Suriname, you might find a couple of them on my Story Time blog! From their Rooftop terras, you can see important places and buildings like the presidential palace, and you even have a great view of the Wijdenbosch (brug) bridge. Daily hundreds of cars pass over this bridge to cross the Suriname river between Commewijne and Paramaribo. In the city, the river water isn't as crystal clear as in the jungles of our tropical South American rainforest. But that doesn't make the unique beauty of Suriname any less breathtaking. I made a vlog for you guys of this Story Time foodie adventure with my friends at Ramada's rooftop. I hope you love it and until soon! You'll just have to wait and see what adventures the Story Time spaceship has in store for you. Feel free to share this episode on your social media accounts if you love my Paramaribo food and travel adventures! I'm pretty sure you'll love seeing me crack that crystal-sugary layer of my Creme Brulee dessert! You can find more information about Ramada Paramaribo Princess on their website.
