Revisiting "The Truth Is" (A 15-Year Journey)

Revisiting "The Truth Is" (A 15-Year Journey) 🖋️💔 They say time heals all wounds, but as a writer, I’ve found that time also acts as a powerful lens. Looking back at words you wrote half a lifetime ago is a bit like looking at an old polaroid—the colors might have faded, but the raw emotion of that moment remains perfectly preserved. 🎞️ Today, I’m opening up the archives of Story Time Productions to share a deeply personal piece of creative writing . I wrote this poem when I was 18 years old . Now, at 33 , I’m looking back at these lines with a mix of nostalgia and a deep appreciation for the journey I've taken since then. 👣 The Poem: "The Truth Is" 📜 Damn, what I'd do to have you here. Damn, I wish you were near. Then I would have nothing to fear. The truth is, I do hold you dear. Wait, let’s erase that. Let’s talk about that. The truth is, it was a lie. Don’t blame me if these blunt words make me cry. The truth is, I love you. The truth ...

D'lish Cafe In Paramaribo

"D'Lish Cafe In Paramaribo"

Hello, friends! I'd like to share a new place with you. In the heart of Paramaribo, there is a cafe named D'lish. They are located on the corner of Alberga Street and Gravenberch Street. When we went, it wasn't that crowded. But if you do want a chance to taste their dessert, I recommend going early! By the time we arrived, all their cakes had sold out. I loved how they went all out with their Christmas decorations. My stomach was rumbling, and I had a long day ahead of me. Recovering from being sick so many times in a row this year has taught me to take better care of my body and its needs. Too bad I had to go through that bad episode to figure it out. But it's a good thing that I'm not the type of person to give up on myself. If I was I'd end up listening to those teachers that told me writing was a waste of time years ago.👽👾🛸 Instead, I've become the alien 😂that's inviting you to subscribe! With my hungry stomach ruling my mind, I ordered a macchiato coffee and a toasted sandwich with shrimp and long beans. In Suriname, we call that "Broodje garnalen en kouseband." That's the way you order it in Dutch, in case you ever find yourself traveling through this part of the Caribbean.😁 We also got bread with spicy chicken. The caramel macchiato was delicious! Because D'lish cafe was about to close, we had to take our order to go.

While they were busy preparing our order, I took out my Nikon and snapped a few quick shots to share with you. The bread was still warm and toasted to a crunchy texture. I loved my shrimp with a long bean sandwich. The spicy chicken sandwich reminded me of shawarma. It's flavorful and has a lot of different spices. I made a vlog of my visit to D'lish cafe in Paramaribo for you guys. I hope you enjoy it, and don't forget to subscribe! I have many more foodie and travel adventures to share with you. As the year draws to a close, I would like to express my gratitude to all of you for the love and support you've shown me throughout my content creation journey.💓 Where will you be traveling to next year?
