The Pet House In Paramaribo Noord
The Pet House In Paramaribo Noord
A Quest for Fish: Exploring Pet Shops in Paramaribo Noord
Hello, friends! Welcome back to another Story Time adventure. Lately, I've found myself creating a lot of content about pet shops, and I have a goal of visiting every single one in Suriname. My obsession with fish and aquariums—especially the vibrant, glow-in-the-dark tetras—is what draws me to these stores.
One day, after finishing a client job in Paramaribo Noord earlier than expected, I opened Google Maps to see what was nearby. My search for "pet stores" brought up a few options in the area. Our first stop was Pet Premium, but I quickly discovered they didn't have any fish. They did, however, have a fantastic selection of supplies and toys for cats and dogs. I also noticed a sign indicating that they offered kennel and pet grooming services. The lady working there was so lovely; she recommended another pet shop that specialized in fish and aquariums. I couldn't find the store on Google Maps because I didn't know its name, but she was kind enough to give us directions.
Despite the helpful guidance from the staff at Pet Premium, I still struggled to find the place. I decided to stop at a Chinese store and asked the man behind the register if he knew of a store that sold fish and aquariums. To my luck, he knew exactly where The Pet House was. He told me it wasn't far from his store, near the famous Roopram restaurant. With these new directions, it only took a few minutes to arrive at my destination.
Finding a parking space on their large property was easy. Before I even stepped foot inside the store, I was captivated by the animals outside—fluffy bunnies, exotic birds, and fish, as well as a turtle in an aquarium. For some reason, most of the turtles were sticking their necks out of the water, as if they were just as curious about me as I was about them. I felt like a kid visiting a mini-zoo!
After a quick tour of the outdoor pets, I finally went inside. The store mainly sold small aquariums and food for fish, dogs, cats, and other pets. It was quite busy! I paused to admire the large pond built inside the shop. The fish in there were huge, swimming around, completely unbothered by the humans surrounding them.
I created a vlog of my visit to The Pet House in Paramaribo Noord to share with you all. I hope you enjoy it. After a while, I had to turn off the camera to talk to the lady working there. She was very friendly but only spoke Spanish, so I had to use my rusty language skills to communicate. Despite the language barrier, she was incredibly helpful and answered all my questions. I've noticed a pattern: all the pet stores I've visited so far have had Spanish-speaking women working there. It makes me wonder if our Latin neighbors have a deeper knowledge of fish and pet care.
What pet from my video would you take home with you?
