I tried wood seal carving!

Hold on to your space seats, because the story time U.F.O. is back at it again, zapping fresh stories straight from the mothership into your inbox! 🛸 If you’ve been following my blog or my ShachemLieuw YouTube channel for a while, you probably already know I’ve been deep-diving into learning Mandarin and exploring more about my Chinese heritage. Well, my latest mission involved signing up for a wood seal carving class, and I liked it so much that I’ve officially decided to purchase a wood seal carving kit and turn this into a permanent hobby! 🧰✍️ Fun plot twist: we didn't actually work with real wood. We got to practice on erasers! But it was still super fun learning all the traditional carving techniques. (For those wondering, the Chinese carving knife used for this is called an intou or bidao —often referred to as an iron pen or a graver!) The class went pretty in-depth about the history of seal carving in China. Historically, seals (or chops) served as powerful credential...

"Shachem Lieuw In The Rooftop Swimming Pool Of Yogh Hospitality 5 Star Hotel In Suriname"

Hello friends, I am relieved to finally publish this Story Time episode! Thanks to the bad internet connection in Suriname, keeping up with my blog can sometimes be a struggle 😪. I appreciate it when you subscribe and tune into my episodes. That motivates me to continue sharing more foodie and travel adventures. Starlink, if you see this, hook up a South American sister! 😍❤️🥰 I spent Valentine's Night in Suriname's first and only 5-star hotel. 🤩 From the beginning, I was excited to spend the night at this luxurious hotel in the heart of Paramaribo. The vibes were romantic indeed. 😍 Their swimming pool isn't deep, but it's part of a beautiful view. During the nighttime, that view gained a life of its own.

As a pool girl, I'll always make the most of my time in the water. I didn't mind jumping into my unicorn bikini and being the only one splashing around during the night. It was a cold dive with the wind blowing hard since we were so high in the sky. I got to enjoy the romantic music that the guitarist was playing. For Valentine's night, the staff at Yogh Hospitality did an excellent job setting the vibe!😍The restaurant had plenty of couples visiting the buffet. They were seated to face a gorgeous view of the city of Paramaribo. Once I stepped out of the pool, I lingered on one of those soft pool beds! Lying down on them and watching the stars was a treat for my body and soul. The fact that their tables lit up like lamps during the night was a pleasing aesthetic that easily impressed me.

I lingered by the pool for a while before retreating to my room. That's where I got dressed to get some food. When staying at Yogh Hospitality Hotel in Suriname, there are numerous restaurants and food options within walking distance. Don't be afraid to explore the diversity of the Surinamese kitchen by venturing beyond your hotel's walls. When we returned to the hotel, I finally got to taste the delicious doughnuts I ordered from Wake&Bake. You might have spotted their yummy goodies during my previous Story Time episodes.
