Beni's Christmas Palace In Suriname

Beni's Christmas Palace In Suriname Just like in the photo above this text, I am okay but I am not completely okay. I feel awful on the inside and for a long time it was difficult to find the motivation to return to blogging.  Tomorrow's Christmas, so I mustered all of my strength to at least finish another episode. I've been gone for a while because as usual, life got hectic. But this time in a bad way! As you guys know a while ago I started a company in Suriname. Most of my days were spent creating Story Time episodes, working, doing social work or going along to get a taste of the field.  When we go to clients, sometimes I get to see awesome places. Or in between on our journeys we tend to make pitstops. This Story Time episode is supposed to be about my visit to Beni's Christmas palace. But let me tell you about what happened after that first. Just so you can understand how my Christmas spirit, transformed in the energy of mourning. People see the good, but I'l...

Checking Into A $450 Hotel Room At Yogh Hospitality Hotel In Suriname

Checking Into A $450 Hotel Room At Yogh Hospitality Hotel In Suriname

"Shachem Lieuw in Yogh Hospitality Hotel with the room decorated for Valentine. The Bed is covered in red rose petals"

How have you guys been? I'm back with another travel adventure! In Paramaribo a new hotel opened and I had to check it out to review it for you guys. This hotel is called Yogh Hospitality and they are the first 5-star hotel in Suriname. Our country has always focused on tourism, but compared to our South American and Caribbean neighbors we still have a long way to go. That's why I was excited when I heard that the new hotel opened. It's one step in the right direction towards facilitating our foreign guests. As of the moment because the hotel has just opened their Spa isn't available yet. But that didn't stop me from having the time of my life in this beautiful place! The hotel is located in the heart of Paramaribo. I was excited when we arrived in the Dominee straat (street). This street is home to a lot of popular stores and companies in Suriname. On top of that all of the neighboring streets, are a part of Suriname's shopping capital. When I stepped into the lobby, I was immediately impressed with the interior design. The colors were vibrant and radiated luxury. After check-in, we were assisted by the floor manager. He said that they had a surprise for our room and guided us towards our destination. The modern glass lift in the hotel provides a gorgeous view of the lobby as you pass by each floor. Our room was located on the third floor.  We stepped out of the lift and turned a few corners. But when we finally got to our room, we were surprised! The room was beautiful and modern. Yogh Hospitality Hotel surprised us by spreading out red rose petals on the bed and in the jacuzzi.

The bathroom had a gorgeous mirror with LED lights. After a short tour of our room, we were brought to the rooftop on the 4th floor. They have a Mediterranean restaurant on their top floor. But it isn't fully operating yet. As of the moment, it's more used for breakfast. I took a few steps closer just to get a shot for you guys from the outside, but the sliding doors shocked me when they automatically went open. I like the fact that they added these things for a modern touch. Keep in mind, that at the moment I am comparing to Surinamese standards. Yet staying at Yogh Hotel, felt like I was in some foreign place. Especially when we walked out onto the rooftop. Their swimming pool is beautiful and those big soft beds beside the swimming pool were just what my hard-working body was craving! After all the hard work my body has been through, this day was all the relaxation I needed. From the rooftop, I admired the beautiful city of Paramaribo. I could even see the Suriname and Commewijne River from there. Then I decided to change into my swimming clothes. I put on this adorable and colorful unicorn colored bikini. Their swimming pool isn't too deep. You can easily stand in it, but it is windy. The wind almost blew my glasses from the rooftop. We paid $450 for a night at Yogh Hospitality Hotel in Suriname. Was it worth it? Well, I guess you'll have to watch this vlog first and wait until we finish the Yogh Hotel series. The first impression is certainly a 5-star experience. We got amazing service and the room was a haven on its own. With that Jacuzzi, you don't need to go to the spa. Sitting in it is like getting a massage in the water while the lights change colors. But that's for our next Story Time episode. For now, enjoy this vlog, and until soon! Are you planning your hotel getaway soon? Visit Expedia for great hotel deals during all seasons.
