7 Reasons people don't want to work for you!
Let's face it most people know what it is like hating your job. Now our bosses might think we are lazy and don't want to make money for them or are unappreciative. But hey don't they know we have bills to pay as well? Every penny counts in this economy. So if you are an employer and you are trying to figure out why you keep losing employees this article has some hard honesty for you. See this as"positive feedback" to grow your position in our company.
1. Respect
If you don't respect the people providing you services, it means you don't respect your companies product or service. Because these are the same people that make sure your company grows and sales are made. Sales mean money, not respecting your employees means your not respecting your most valuable asset of income. People make mistakes, if mistakes are made communicating in a nice way will ensure that your employee will not repeat their mistakes. Do not scream or yell at people like they are slaves. So it shouldn't be a surprise if in your company people quit every month. Why? Yes freedom my friend, we don't have to work for you until the day we die.
2. Unnecessary pressure
Now I understand it if you have to make deadlines. But if you want to be cheap and make as much money as possible without hiring extra help you automatically add unnecessary pressure on your employees. If you know you are taking 30 extra jobs next month because you want to increase your income make sure you have enough manpower to handle the job. You cannot randomly start expecting your employee to do twice as much work every day working the same hours.
3. Unreasonable expectations
I hope this isn't one that is hard to understand. Let's make it simple, do not assume my holidays and time off is your property as well without wanting to pay me extra for it! No one works 24/7 and when we go out of our way to make you over time some compensation would be nice. And no my car has to be fueled with gas so it is not company property either.
4 . Underpaying
We invest our time in your companies. We build your brand and ensure the quality of your product. The least you can do is pay us what we deserve. Let's face it if we are going to work 12 hours a day we eventually are going to look for jobs that pay us better. The term minimum wage was invented for a reason, and thinking of smart ways to shorten our cut isn't helping your case.
5. Unhealthy work environment.
A healthy work environment in simple terms means I want to wake up every day and come to work without feeling like I am trapped in hell. It makes no sense to wake up every morning, show up on time and do everything right just to get yelled at by your boss. Some employers are unhappy no matter what. They feel like they constantly need to pressure employees just to keep them in check. Make sure we come to work in a place where we feel safe and happy to be there. You will see major results. Look at all the major corporations that take good care of their personal. Now you know why they make billions of dollars a year.
6. Punishing effort.
I will give an example of this one. Do not tell me that working at least 4 extra hours a day will double my check at the end of the month and then when I have worked all those hours extra in a month you come up with a reason at the end of the month to cut my salary short. Effort should be rewarded this will keep your employees satisfied in working for you. If you punish effort do not be shocked when your production drops.
7. No extra benefits
If I am working for you and you can't even give me an employer's statement so I can open that bank account of mine you really don't expect me to stay here forever right? Not because you want to be cheap on taxes doesn't mean that I have to live a life without being able to get proper insurance or at least a savings account. I have to think of the future as well.
So dear Employers I hope you have learned something from this article, and if you are an employee be sure to share this wisdom.
