I wanted to insert an Austin Powers reference to start this article. But since I am interviewing Marcel Breinburg  Tjawlaaa. To early?  I met Marcel Breinburg once before during a random event in Paramaribo. I recognized him from the Facebook videos my little brother watched every day. I mean can you even live in Suriname and not have heard of Error404 entertainment once? But for my foreign readers let me break it down to you in this edition of Storytime!

                                              Who is Marcel Breinburg?

When I met Marcel Breinburg for the first time I walked up to him and instantly asked him if he was that guy who made the funny Facebook videos? He replied very politely.  Since he was so polite I thought why not ask him to do an interview for Storytime? Because being someone very well known ( not my words)  as well I can often understand that people only see a part of your world. The lesson our guests at  Storytime teach us is to not judge a book by its cover. At the end of the article, I want you to answer one question! What can Marcel Breinburg his story teach us?  

Marcel Breinburg Producer/Actor/Writer

I asked Marcel to tell me a little bit more about himself. " Marcel Breinburg is a creative individual who likes broadening his horizon, enjoys reading that's the way I get a lot of creativity as well.  The most important thing in my life is my religion.  I am a Jehovah's Witness, my religion helps to keep me on the right path and to follow important principles and morals in life.  This is what makes me a unique character in society".  I asked Marcel what his hobbies are. " My hobbies are reading, writing, acting, filming, and reading the bible. That is also a very important part of life.  I work as an I.C.T.  administrator in the Ministry of Education. Besides doing that I have a second job. That is my production house Error 404 entertainment. I started with Error 404 entertainment in  2013/2014.  It has already been around 5 years since the beginning of Error 404 entertainment.  Since I was a kid I loved acting and reading. At home, I was always the funniest.  I noticed there was a group active in Suriname named Sacramento. They discovered my talent and asked me to join them.  I started acting with them.  One thing led to another, I saw that what they wrote really came to life. I myself enjoyed writing so I started filming funny sketches that I wrote with my phone. I already have humor in me so I started developing my talent. That way I also realized that my script came to life.  That is what I enjoy the most. It triggers my creativity so I started investing in my talent. I met other colleagues; Dit is het nieuws, Fewiejj , we ended up supporting each other. That led to us joining Su Comedy All-stars. We did a lot of fun projects together, one of the best ones is a info project for Unicef.  That's an international human rights organization that focuses on the rights of children. We also did some projects for the ministry of Justice and Police ". Now, this interview got interesting fast. Because everyone who knows me, knows I'm a Human rights freak. 

                                                 Error404 Entertainment 

I asked Marcel to tell us the story behind Error404 entertainment. "  We started expanding and investing in our equipment.  We started approaching it in a more professional manner.  Now Error 404 entertainment is an established production house with other sub-organizations under its umbrella. We also have a department in the Netherlands, they do entertainment in Holland. We keep expressing our creativity, so we keep expanding the base of our production company as well. We have big plans for the future, we are busy writing the script for a movie that we will produce in the future. At the moment we are busy doing budget meetings to make this movie happen. We are also busy writing a show".  Besides all the work Marcel Breinburg has with his production company he is also busy writing his own book.  " I am writing a children's book, but we also have other projects in the planning. I don't want to say the name yet because it has to be a surprise when it's launched".

                     Error404 entertainment expanding to the Netherlands

Error404 entertainment is already busy expanding to the Netherlands. " The reason why we want to do this is that we noticed that there also a lot of Surinamese people living in the Netherlands. They join our entertainment as well, that is also the reason why we often work together with Dutch artists.  One of the famous entertainers we worked with is Lindsey Mone. She is also a part of Error404 entertainment.  Comedy is our way of covering the distance so that our fans feel close to home as well. My comedy is different because fans of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy my work. It's all about clean humor, that is also because I am a Jehovah's Witness. Every person and child can feel entertained with my productions without getting damaged". I had to know what Marcel Breinburg his personal favorite videos are. " My favorite video is a recent one that was a hit Parkeer wachter. I also liked the ones I made for Unicef, Broodje Massala I have a few others but I forgot their names. They are all unique and good in their own way. I also have a difficult character Kobus. With him, I made a few good videos as well".

                            Why Marcel Breinburg chose for Youtube?

" I chose for Youtube because with Youtube I can reach a broader audience. It gives you the opportunity to reach other countries and people as well.  That way other people get the chance to enjoy my entertainment as well.  My motto always is one day without laughter is a day of not living.  I want to put a smile on everyone's face. If I reached my goal we are happy, then there is peace of mind.  Laughing gives people problems peace of mind". This gave me a new perspective on what Marcel Breinburg does.  He doesn't only get people to laugh, he also provides them with a distraction from the outside world. So that at that moment we get reminded what it's like to feel happy.  I wanted to know how Marcel Breinburg deals with fame and this is what he told me. " I know I am famous but not that famous I am a little bit well known. But that is not something that goes to my head. But that is also because I am a Jehovah's Witness. I can't afford to walk next to my shoes". I can certainly vouch for that, Marcel Breinburg is a very humble and friendly person.  " The God I serve is one that requires me to be very humble, so the fame doesn't do anything to me. It is fun but I just see it as me doing good work and people recognizing that. That is of course a positive sign. My wife understands me very well, we have a good understanding. So it doesn't get into my personal life as well. She also acts in my videos".

I asked Marcel Breinburg to tell me his favorite memory with a fan. " I know a little girl, her name is Rajesha Gangadien she is very young.  About 6 or 7 years old, she really liked my movies and since then she grew up watching my movies. Now she is like my little sister. It touches me to know that people reach out to celebrities and know what I do. They are friendly and nice people. I am always humbled and open to everyone I meet.  One of the funniest memory is when a fan saw me. I thought she couldn't talk, because she couldn't say a word and started to stutter. I don't like to see myself bigger than the rest. She was a young lady around 18 or 19 years old, I had no idea that I would impact someone in a way they start stuttering. It is funny when I think back about that moment".  Of course just like anyone else Marcel Breinburg also has some dreams he would love to realize in the future. " One of my big dreams is to make a movie with my production company Error404 entertainment. I also want to publish my own book. That will be an achievement for me. " My advice to young people is to keep reading and developing themselves.  The moment you stop reading and developing yourself you end up in a vicious circle. If you have a passion or a talent, develop that as well. That way you get to discover your creativity. I have some role models in life I like to look at actors from who I learn a lot. Like Jim Carrey  and Mr bean. It may sound childish but these are people who have a whole science behind acting and comedy. I also have a lot of biblical characters who I look up to as well. For example, Mozes, how he lived, and how he developed as an individual. The people I look up to help me shape and form my life. Another creative role model in my life is Levi Ronowidjo. A good friend of mine but also a producer for Error404 entertainment. Thanks to him we have grown into the production company that we are today ".

                    What can the fans expect from Error404 entertainment?

" My fans can certainly expect great awesome comedy as always because I keep developing myself. My form of acting will only keep getting better, I am multi-talented so I can do a lot. That talent and effort go back into my production house error404 entertainment. My wife is my best friend, she keeps stimulating me. It is funny because being married you experience a lot. Those experiences I  transform into comedy. She is really smart and awesome, she understands how important my creativity is. She even helps me with ideas for sketches and sometimes she acts in my videos as well. You always have to give the child living inside of you the chance to come out. The moment you start thinking as an adult you love the creativity a child has. A child always knows how to be creative and how to solve problems in a simple manner. I know when I should be serious but I always try to think like a child so I can use my creativity.  In my marriage, I mostly joke with my partner we can laugh all day long. That way we don't go through stress or have to put up a sour face all day long. My wife understands and appreciates that so we always end up having a good time together".
