Beni's Christmas Palace In Suriname

Beni's Christmas Palace In Suriname Just like in the photo above this text, I am okay but I am not completely okay. I feel awful on the inside and for a long time it was difficult to find the motivation to return to blogging.  Tomorrow's Christmas, so I mustered all of my strength to at least finish another episode. I've been gone for a while because as usual, life got hectic. But this time in a bad way! As you guys know a while ago I started a company in Suriname. Most of my days were spent creating Story Time episodes, working, doing social work or going along to get a taste of the field.  When we go to clients, sometimes I get to see awesome places. Or in between on our journeys we tend to make pitstops. This Story Time episode is supposed to be about my visit to Beni's Christmas palace. But let me tell you about what happened after that first. Just so you can understand how my Christmas spirit, transformed in the energy of mourning. People see the good, but I'l...

Finding Balance

            Blogger Notes: Finding Balance

Hello Guys, I wanted to kick off this blogger's notes with a soothing and relaxing video of Suriname.  I love the beauty of my country. I just like exploring the different sides that this place that we call the heart of the Amazon rainforest has to offer.  I still have a lot of unfinished stories that I will be sharing with you in the near future. So make sure you jump onto the Story Time U.F.O. and subscribe to my blog.  What do you guys think of this amazing view that Suriname has to offer? Every time I look at it, it brings me to peace.  It also reminds me of the unique and diverse beauty that is hidden in the Surinamese rainforest.  You can bet your money that Tap a watra falls isn't the only beautiful pearl of nature that you can find in Suriname. In today's blogger notes I will be talking to you guys about finding balance. Having balance in life is extremely important for our health and overall wellbeing. You know what they say, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. I can tell you that all work and no play is such a tension builder. The last thing we need is toxic tension building up inside of our bodies. When I say that, I am speaking from experience! Lately, I have been more focused on working on my overall well-being. I had to learn the hard way that it is impossible to keep pouring from an empty cup and expect to feel fulfilled.  We have to take care of ourselves and build strong foundations. I have embraced this journey in my life and I am sharing the life lessons with you guys because I want you to win! I want all of us to win! When we are all growing and glowing, it doesn't hurt the world. It is when you are doing well for yourself, that you are able to do more for your community and the world around you. Each and every one of us is capable of making an impact with our own unique traits and abilities. That's why I never see anyone else as competition. You do, you and I do me. Because I do know that the time that I have on earth is not going to be wasted on unnecessary things and drama. We often forget that we have the power to decide what and who deserves our time, attention, and energy. Those are a part of the most valuable tools that we as humans possess. They form the base of innovation and creation. Or lets at least say it's either that or you are wasting it on things and situations that don't matter.  If there is one thing I have changed in my life, it is that I have become more aware and careful about where I spend my time and energy. In the past, a lot of people tried to take that away from me, and waste it because they didn't value what I was providing.  If you don't value yourself enough to practice healthy and strong boundaries you will never find balance. I am someone who likes helping other people, and no I am not saying that because I want to seek validation. I am saying it because I am sharing a part of who I am with you! They say you can't understand someone until you know their story or at least a part of it.

But I am not going to make this completely about me, that is not the kind of person I am. Instead, I want to share some insights that I find important. I think it can help you a lot on your journey. When you are out there chasing your dreams and ambitions I want you to remember that all progress counts! Don't spread yourself too thin in life. You weren't made to be stuck in a sandwich of chaos, insecurity, and anxiety. A part of finding balance in yourself and the life that you are living is to acknowledge the fact that you are doing all that you can. Appreciate the work and effort that you put into creating the life that you want. I know that sometimes life can get overwhelming. Right now I am participating in a couple of international sessions/seminars/training programs and it can be time-consuming.  Whenever I feel overwhelmed with all the different things that I am juggling in my life I ground myself. When I am grounded, I remind myself of all the reasons why I am doing it. Why I think it is worth it, and why I feel the need to pursue it.  You have to keep yourself motivated.  Sometimes that means digging up the past, to make sure it is in balance with the scale of the present. When you achieve that balance, my friend the future is bright.  We all have an impact on this world, in different ways. I might be good at writing, but an awful cook.  You can't have it all, but do appreciate what you have. When we find this balance within ourselves it becomes easier to navigate the outside world. When we act from our highest self, we are authentic.  And when you are authentic, you are loyal to your identity. The reward in this is the awareness that helps you develop your talent and skills. You could be the best violinist in the world and you don't know it because you never tried it out.  Sometimes you just need to pause for a moment and listen to your own needs. That is how you learn to prioritize yourself. Try to trust your instincts and you might just be surprised.  Another way to keep the scales in balance is to let go of trauma, issues, pain, grief, and other baggage that weighs heavy on your soul.  You need to let go of the past and negative experiences, in order to make room for new, positive, and more uplifting ones. Take the lessons along with you, I like to see those lessons as trophies that remind me of my strength. In the meantime, I will be sharing more of my adventures and experiences with you.
