Finding Balance

            Blogger Notes: Finding Balance

Hello Guys, I wanted to kick off this blogger's notes with a soothing and relaxing video of Suriname.  I love the beauty of my country. I just like exploring the different sides that this place that we call the heart of the Amazon rainforest has to offer.  I still have a lot of unfinished stories that I will be sharing with you in the near future. So make sure you jump onto the Story Time U.F.O. and subscribe to my blog.  What do you guys think of this amazing view that Suriname has to offer? Every time I look at it, it brings me to peace.  It also reminds me of the unique and diverse beauty that is hidden in the Surinamese rainforest.  You can bet your money that Tap a watra falls isn't the only beautiful pearl of nature that you can find in Suriname. In today's blogger notes I will be talking to you guys about finding balance. Having balance in life is extremely important for our health and overall wellbeing. You know what they say, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. I can tell you that all work and no play is such a tension builder. The last thing we need is toxic tension building up inside of our bodies. When I say that, I am speaking from experience! Lately, I have been more focused on working on my overall well-being. I had to learn the hard way that it is impossible to keep pouring from an empty cup and expect to feel fulfilled.  We have to take care of ourselves and build strong foundations. I have embraced this journey in my life and I am sharing the life lessons with you guys because I want you to win! I want all of us to win! When we are all growing and glowing, it doesn't hurt the world. It is when you are doing well for yourself, that you are able to do more for your community and the world around you. Each and every one of us is capable of making an impact with our own unique traits and abilities. That's why I never see anyone else as competition. You do, you and I do me. Because I do know that the time that I have on earth is not going to be wasted on unnecessary things and drama. We often forget that we have the power to decide what and who deserves our time, attention, and energy. Those are a part of the most valuable tools that we as humans possess. They form the base of innovation and creation. Or lets at least say it's either that or you are wasting it on things and situations that don't matter.  If there is one thing I have changed in my life, it is that I have become more aware and careful about where I spend my time and energy. In the past, a lot of people tried to take that away from me, and waste it because they didn't value what I was providing.  If you don't value yourself enough to practice healthy and strong boundaries you will never find balance. I am someone who likes helping other people, and no I am not saying that because I want to seek validation. I am saying it because I am sharing a part of who I am with you! They say you can't understand someone until you know their story or at least a part of it.

But I am not going to make this completely about me, that is not the kind of person I am. Instead, I want to share some insights that I find important. I think it can help you a lot on your journey. When you are out there chasing your dreams and ambitions I want you to remember that all progress counts! Don't spread yourself too thin in life. You weren't made to be stuck in a sandwich of chaos, insecurity, and anxiety. A part of finding balance in yourself and the life that you are living is to acknowledge the fact that you are doing all that you can. Appreciate the work and effort that you put into creating the life that you want. I know that sometimes life can get overwhelming. Right now I am participating in a couple of international sessions/seminars/training programs and it can be time-consuming.  Whenever I feel overwhelmed with all the different things that I am juggling in my life I ground myself. When I am grounded, I remind myself of all the reasons why I am doing it. Why I think it is worth it, and why I feel the need to pursue it.  You have to keep yourself motivated.  Sometimes that means digging up the past, to make sure it is in balance with the scale of the present. When you achieve that balance, my friend the future is bright.  We all have an impact on this world, in different ways. I might be good at writing, but an awful cook.  You can't have it all, but do appreciate what you have. When we find this balance within ourselves it becomes easier to navigate the outside world. When we act from our highest self, we are authentic.  And when you are authentic, you are loyal to your identity. The reward in this is the awareness that helps you develop your talent and skills. You could be the best violinist in the world and you don't know it because you never tried it out.  Sometimes you just need to pause for a moment and listen to your own needs. That is how you learn to prioritize yourself. Try to trust your instincts and you might just be surprised.  Another way to keep the scales in balance is to let go of trauma, issues, pain, grief, and other baggage that weighs heavy on your soul.  You need to let go of the past and negative experiences, in order to make room for new, positive, and more uplifting ones. Take the lessons along with you, I like to see those lessons as trophies that remind me of my strength. In the meantime, I will be sharing more of my adventures and experiences with you. If you have any questions feel free to let me know in the comment section and until next time right here on Story Time!

Paint Shopping And Food Stop At Warung Resa

Paint Shopping And Food Stop At Warung Resa Hello Story Time friends, welcome back! I'm taking you along on another vlog. This video was made on a hectic day. I split the content of my adventures into different parts. So make sure you subscribe and stay tuned. There are a lot of stories that I still have to finish. I wish I had more time for my creative projects. But with my lifestyle in Suriname that is not realistic! Anyway, we're going paint shopping in different stores. I visited HJ De Vries, Malhoe's Building Materials, and a Historex retailer. When we were done combing through stores for our project, I was hungry and tired! So we decided to go to Warung Resa. Their Javanese food reminds me of my late grandmother's and aunt's cooking. It's flavorful and authentic. We had the Gudanang and the Long Tong Tahoe. Both are traditional dishes in Javanese culture. Long Tong Tahoe is made with bean sprouts, Tahoe, and chicken. It's then drizzled with a spicy

Green Key Expo At Torarica

Green Awareness Expo At Torarica Hola mi amigos welcome back to a new Story Time adventure! There is a vibrant city in the beating heart of the Amazon rainforest! This city is rich with multi-ethnic culture and flavorful food. Of course, I am talking about Paramaribo. Living in the Amazon Rainforest, we're surrounded by greenery. But these parts of the Amazon Rainforest haven't been unaffected by global warming. The recent droughts where multiple rivers and creeks were empty is an example. The gold mining and wood exploitation that happens in our jungles is affecting the beauty of our land. Protecting the Amazon Rainforest means protecting the lungs of the world. Green awareness is a topic that's often mentioned in this part of the world. Hotel Torarica organized a Green Key fair and of course, I had to visit! Now I can finally share the Story with you guys! Creating these Story Time episodes takes a lot of work. So I'd appreciate it if you subscribe and join our tri

Shadows Of Love

Shadows Of Love Sometimes you must shuffle the deck a few times to be dealt the right hand. And sometimes you meet that King Of Hearts in the first move that the game will demand. In the shadows of love, there are many secrets hidden. Something about you felt familiar, calm, and at the same time forbidden. I wonder what the universe was conspiring when our paths crossed. From a distance, I felt your eyes capture my soul. Maybe this is a story that should never be told! But they say that if you want to enter the paradise of lovers you have to pay the toll! A friend once asked me a question, he said: " What is it you are looking for now that we are getting old?". I told him I wanted someone who could spark my mind, soul, and maybe my inner sexual being. After he exposed the beauty hidden in my poetry, thoughts kept flirting with this hidden feeling. Sometimes we need the right people to ask us the right questions! But sometimes when the ones we hide in our hearts want to kno

Story time with Donovan Dongo, Dongo brothers selected for W.W.E

Storytime with Donovan Dongo, Dongo Brothers selected  The Dongo brothers holding the Surinamese flag in front of the  W.W.E performance center in America. Today I have some good news for the people of Suriname. I know I am a bit late with this story, but what can I say. I have been having problems with my Internet provider for a while now.  If you live in Suriname, you probably can relate. But on with Storytime, today we are going to talk about the Dongo brothers.  These guys have proven that dreams do come true, with a lot of hard work and effort.  The World Wrestling Entertainment (W.W.E) has selected Donovan and Leandro Dongo to represent Suriname. They made it past their last tryouts and were selected out of 30.000 applicants. The Dongo brothers have proven what they are made of, but they have also put Suriname on the world map when it comes to wrestling entertainment.  Donovan Dongo shares his experiences with Storytime in a video he recorded. But since I have a

Blogger notes: Happy new year! Storytime in 2022

Happy new year, Storytime in 2022 Hi guys, I want to wish all of you a happy new year. I am learning to stay positive no matter the circumstances. Throughout the years I have become a professional at it. The weird thing is, the better I get at it the better my skills become. I have to say I am proud of myself for getting through last year. There were some painful lessons, as usual. I have come to learn that they are a part of the journey that helps me build my successes. The more I embraced positivity the less my anxiety became.  Anxiety can be a messed-up demon, but the warrior in me kind of grew tired of it and decided to stab it. That's the problem when you know how strong you are.  The only thing is, I just wasn't in a hurry to grow up. Especially if you grew up in the public eye like I did. But I have no regrets. Because each step that I made in life also led me to beautiful people and beautiful experiences. The more content I feel with my life, the more my inn

In this adventure, we are having a pool day at hotel Torarica in Paramaribo. When I filmed this video I had just reached my first 10.000 views on Youtube. That was a while ago when I just started my Youtube journey.  Filming for Youtube and my blog has been quite the learning journey. From all the technical difficulties to the content I lost and figuring out how to get better shots. But when you are as determined as I am you learn while you are on the go. I am excited to see what fun content I'll create in the coming year. It helps a lot when you subscribe to my blog by filling in your e-mail address when that Sto
