Traveling in the city of Paramaribo, visiting Het Pannekoek & Poffertjes cafe, Ketmien, and Alegria's playground

In today's Story, we are going on a food adventure in Paramaribo. After enjoying my wonderful breakfast at Tangelo's, I went to Het Pannekoek & Poffertjes cafe to meet a dear friend of mine. Tangelo isn't far from Het Pannekoek & Poffertjes cafe. It's right around the corner on the famous Van Sommeldijckstraat #11. You can't miss it; it features a nice, open terrace design. When I arrived there, I found a nice spot to sit. While sitting in this Surinamese restaurant, you have a great view of the street. At night, this street can be bustling. It's a popular hangout spot for locals and tourists. While my stomach was processing the breakfast I had, I ordered a Pina Colada.🧉

When my Pina Colada arrived, I was already busy writing on my laptop. As you've noticed, I'm getting a lot more writing done. 😎😊 That's something I'm proud of. Making time for this Story Time blog that I am so passionate about, just to keep you entertained and informed on your travel and food adventures in Suriname and other parts of the world that we end up in. This Pina Colada was more on the coconut side. I enjoyed taking sips while letting my inspiration flow os I worked on my new book. Wish me lots of luck with that. 😊 When my friend arrived, I put the laptop away to focus on our meeting together. At least I am one of those people who are polite like that. Suriname is a tropical country, which means you won't always be able to control the environment. While I was busy ordering food for u, a fly got stuck in my straw. When I noticed it, it was too late. I didn't even finish my drink. I asked the waitress for some water, but she advised me to go drink water from their bathroom tap. After COVID, there are just some things I don't mess with. Drinking water from a public bathroom tap is one of them. So I ordered some water instead, just to wash down the taste of the bug that was in my straw. The shrimp platter seemed interesting, so we ordered that with some fries and a chicken burger.

The bread was a bit heavy, but the shrimp was well seasoned. The fries were okay, and the salad was good; it helped fill the plate for the price. I don't mind spending money on food, as long as it's worth it! But because I had such an impressive and grand breakfast, I didn't finish much of the food. Next time I visit Het Pannekoek & Poffertjes Café, I'll return to try different dishes from their menu, and then I'll write a Story about it. More motivation for you to subscribe to my Story Time blog. After we left Het Pannekoek & Poffertjes cafe, I went to Ketmien. A Surinamese store that sells beauty products, cosmetics, and more. I forgot to film the shopping part for you guys. Next time, I'll make up for that, but I did manage to get some awesome products for my curly hair. For example, consider Cantu's coconut milk hydrating curly hair cream and this honey hair food oil. All the hair products smell outstanding, and I immediately noticed the results in the shape and structure of my curls after using them. We went to Alegria, and I went to play games. But the machine got m, I should have known better.😂😒😓😔😕
When I was a child, my grandfather would often take me to Alegria on the Keizerstraat to get ice cream. I have positive memories of this place. It has changed a lot, for the better. I love the jungle theme that they implemented, as well as the waterworks. It's been over a year since I last visited Alegria in Paramaribo, and they have been busy upgrading the place. The waterworks were very relaxing for me, and the kids' playground is every child's dream come true. I wish they had something like that when I was a kid. Might build an adult version of this playground just to satisfy my inner child.👀😏. At Alegria in Paramaribo, you have to buy coins if you want to play certain games. Just like Alegria in Lelydorp, they sell ice cream made on-site, as well as fast food options like burgers, fried chicken, hot dogs, and more. I made a video about my adventure in Paramaribo for you. I hope you enjoy it, and I look forward to sharing more of my adventures with you.
