Beni's Christmas Palace In Suriname Just like in the photo above this text, I am okay but I am not completely okay. I feel awful on the inside and for a long time it was difficult to find the motivation to return to blogging. Tomorrow's Christmas, so I mustered all of my strength to at least finish another episode. I've been gone for a while because as usual, life got hectic. But this time in a bad way! As you guys know a while ago I started a company in Suriname. Most of my days were spent creating Story Time episodes, working, doing social work or going along to get a taste of the field. When we go to clients, sometimes I get to see awesome places. Or in between on our journeys we tend to make pitstops. This Story Time episode is supposed to be about my visit to Beni's Christmas palace. But let me tell you about what happened after that first. Just so you can understand how my Christmas spirit, transformed in the energy of mourning. People see the good, but I'l...
Story Time With Rabinder Bholasing And Dosti Musicians
Story Time With Rabinder Bholasing And Dosti Musicians
Hello friends, it's time for another Story Time episode! I'm happy to finally share this article with you guys. The intention was to finish this episode last year. But the file for my vlog was so big that it took me weeks to upload. Telesur has a lot of work to do to upgrade their internet connection. It isn't the first nor last time I will complain on my blog about how bad the upload speed of Suriname's national internet provider is. But that's not what this episode is about. The guests on my blog for this Story Time episode are Rabinder Bholasingh and his band Dosti Musicians. Rabinder Bholasingh is a Surinamese musician who has made a name for himself. He was born into a musical family. From the age of 4 years old, he began singing and performing in the band of his family. His great-grandfather, grandfather, and father were also musicians. The talent and love for music got passed down from generation to generation. His son also seems to have inherited the family talent. Proudly Rabinder Bholasingh introduces his son, Amresh Bholasingh who is also a member of Dosti Musicians. He goes on to tell us that his son also started with music from a young age.
Amresh Bholasingh plays the dantaal. The other members of Dosti Musicians are Master Viroe and Arwiesh Pachai. Viroe plays the harmonium and Arwiesh is experienced at playing the Dholak. Rabinder Bholasing has performed on the international stage in many countries. The music group their schedule is booked for the most part. But if you are still interested in trying to book them you can call on the number +5978909015. Rabinder Bholasingh has many more local and international performances planned for the future. I hope you guys enjoy this Story Time episode, where we get to learn the story behind Rabinder Bholasingh and Dosti Musicians. As you guys can see Suriname is filled with talent. A country that's rich in culture, will have many creative ways to express itself. I like to think that that's just the case with Suriname. This interview is done in Dutch, but I added English captions for you guys to be able to understand the video. There are only a few places in the world where Dutch is spoken. Considering the fact that a large part of my audience doesn't speak Dutch, I'll always try to find a way to break down any communication barriers with you guys. That's why even if you see a Dutch episode here and there, don't worry! Somewhere in my busy schedule, I'll try to squeeze the time to add English translations for my audience. I want to thank Escape Bar & Lounge for making this Story Time episode in Paramaribo possible. Are you planning on traveling soon? Visit Expedia for amazing travel deals!
