Cleaning Day & BBQ Night At Thermo Dynamic Solutions N.V.
Welcome back fellow foodies and Story Time fans! I've been hinting about our new company all over my blog. Behind the scenes, a lot of work goes into building the vision. Thankfully we have many amazing friends who support us through thick and thin. Being surrounded by the right people is a luxury in life. My previous blog post told you about our location being a fixer-upper. But I still love the place and wanted to give it a shot. In business, everything is a gamble. Sometimes you're lucky and sometimes life tests your strength. I like to see these challenges as opportunities to discover our power. We still have a lot of work to do before we can officially open for our customers. Thermo-Dynamic Solutions N.V. offers repairs for ACs, Fridges, and all your other household appliances. We also do AC and water installations. If you need a boiler installed we can get the job done! What makes our company unique, is that we are transparent in our prices and work in all parts of Suriname. From the coast of Paramaribo to the southern parts of Sipaliwini, we'll take on the journey! Whenever I'd scroll on Facebook, I'd get annoyed at all the companies who don't add the price to their posts. That's why being transparent about our prices is an important value we uphold in our company. On our Facebook page, you'll find all the prices for our services indicated on our flyers. The plan is to utilize all the space that we have. I want to give our customers a nice and clean environment when they visit our store in the future. The building was dirty according to my standards. My standards are a bit higher. If we weren't going to run a company then it would be fine as it was. I wanted to clean the entire building inside and out. So I could get the space sorted and work out a business plan. All my years working for international companies have taught me a thing or two. But now it's time to discover what that knowledge and experience is worth in the Surinamese market. Fingers crossed! I've worked for many big brands in the industry but starting from scratch is a different story. Especially when you live in a country with outdated laws and policies. Another hurdle that won't stop us from entering the playing field. My plan was to hire a cleaning company to get our place to sparkle. But my friends offered to help clean up and Stew, well he is the kind of guy that if he can do it himself he will! I am grateful to everyone who lent us a helping hand. Right now we're in the beginning phase and we're still crawling. Many young people have been applying for a job at our company. Sometimes I wish we could do more. But since we're just started we are taking it one step at a time. The job market in Suriname is tough. If our company grows we'll be able to do our part in society. Our priority is to become a stable and growing business. Right now we're working hard just to have a solid foundation. We're grateful for the old and new clients who support us on our journey and help expand our network. Having a healthy relationship with your clients is the key to success. My father taught me that the client is the King or Queen. He is also an entrepreneur and as his oldest child, I saw him struggle and build from scratch. That's why I am confident that if you are willing to do the work, things will eventually work out! In the beginning, it's always a struggle. My other siblings experienced the good days. But I remember sleeping on the floor as our room was filled with my father's materials. From my experiences, I noticed that not all companies provide the kind of service my father implements. Some companies employ rude employees who do not respect the client's time and resources. That's something I hope never happens to us. When I was younger I never imagined myself going into business. I always thought it was too much work and a hassle. My parents worked hard to build their brand. Growing up in a company didn't make me ambitious to own one myself. Now, like many of my ancestors, I am building from scratch. With our hard work and sweat my partners and I are giving it our all. They say that teamwork makes the dream work. Our friends are helping us become a strong team as we're laying the bricks for a strong foundation. Right now the ground might seem shaky, but after putting down those first bricks you feel a sense of relief. Because it's better to start instead of not doing anything at all! Once we began cleaning we were surprised by all the gunk and dirt coming from the building. Our friends snacked on rum chocolate brownies. They loved the brownies from The Brownie Bar. Kara went all out during his shopping spree. We enjoyed each other's presence so much that I didn't get to film everything. He was behind the grill and grilled a yummy honey-glazed BBQ chicken. We added some garlic to the sauce and turned it into a dip for the chicken. When all the hard work was done we had a relaxing and fun night with our friends. It was just another tropical night with the people who care about us. I hope you guys enjoy my vlog! Don't worry your Surinamese pen pal will be back with another Story Time Episode.
