🐣 Easter Weekend: Heavy Loads & Secret Blueprints

🐣 Easter Weekend: Heavy Loads & Secret Blueprints  Happy Easter Weekend, Tribe! πŸ›ΈπŸ‘‘ As the world slows down for a few days, I wanted to check in. I know how it feels lately—the loads of life can feel incredibly heavy. Whether you’re navigating personal mountains or professional marathons, the weight is real. But as we always say here, we must keep pushing forward. Evolution isn't always comfortable, but it is necessary. πŸ› ️ The "Super Team" is Forming I’ve been quiet lately for a reason. I’ve been on the ground here in Suriname , head-down and focused, gathering a literal Super Team for some upcoming social projects. I’m not ready to pull back the curtain just yet—I don't want to jinx the magic before it’s solidified—so just wish me luck for now! πŸ€ Something impactful is brewing in the "Story Time" lab, and I can’t wait to show you what happens when local talent and big visions collide. ✍️ The Mandarin Struggle (Wo Bu Xihuan Xie Hanzi!) 🐲 Story Time: Rising from the Dust & A Trip to Gao Ming

Hello friends, and welcome back to another Story Time adventure in tropical Suriname! πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡·

As many of you know, I’ve been away for a moment. After having our belongings stolen, I’ve been slowly picking up the pieces of my blogging journey. The incident took a toll on my focus and motivation, especially losing so much content on my Samsung S23 Ultra. It has been a long road to recover from the damage our company suffered, and I’ll be sharing more about that in my upcoming "Blogger Notes." πŸ“

Someone I look up to once said, "It’s all in the game of life." This experience has taught me so much wisdom. I’ve realized that not everyone is guided by the same morals—a harsh reality for an idealist like me. But I believe we experience the shadows to appreciate the light. ☀️ I am so grateful for the awesome friends whose support was my foundation during these tough times.

I’ve never been a quitter. My soul isn't scared off by bumps in the road. Sometimes you just have to stand up, dust yourself off, and keep moving! The scars may linger, but I’ve learned to use that pain as fuel. ⛽πŸ”₯ We have officially re-opened our doors and are even planning to move our business to a new location soon!

A Sweet Discovery at Gao Ming πŸ§‹

While out hunting for parts for our clients, we passed Gao Ming in Paramaribo Noord. Suddenly, I had a craving for my favorite Chinese Milk Tea and Yogurt! Don’t ask me the exact names—my Mandarin hasn’t passed the basics of Duolingo yet! πŸ˜‚

Walking through the store brought back so many memories; my dad used to take us there for Chinese candy when I was a kid. This location in Noord is fantastic! They have a huge range of Chinese products, from cooking ingredients to frozen dumplings and siu mai. πŸ₯Ÿ

I headed straight for the fridge and hit the jackpot! 🎯 I found those addictive beverages in even more flavors than usual:

  • Peach Milk Tea: Absolutely yummy! Just writing this makes me crave another one. πŸ‘

  • Vanilla Ice Cream Yogurt: Instead of my usual banana, I tried the vanilla ice cream flavor. It was a perfect blend of tangy yogurt and sweet vanilla. 🍦πŸ₯£

If you’re traveling through Paramaribo Noord, I highly recommend stopping by Gao Ming. You might be surprised by what you find—they even have Kimchi and a great selection of local and foreign fruits! 🍎

Check out the video of my visit below! Peek into this Chinese-Surinamese store with me and let me know what you think in the comments. πŸ‘‡
