Beni's Christmas Palace In Suriname

Beni's Christmas Palace In Suriname Just like in the photo above this text, I am okay but I am not completely okay. I feel awful on the inside and for a long time it was difficult to find the motivation to return to blogging.  Tomorrow's Christmas, so I mustered all of my strength to at least finish another episode. I've been gone for a while because as usual, life got hectic. But this time in a bad way! As you guys know a while ago I started a company in Suriname. Most of my days were spent creating Story Time episodes, working, doing social work or going along to get a taste of the field.  When we go to clients, sometimes I get to see awesome places. Or in between on our journeys we tend to make pitstops. This Story Time episode is supposed to be about my visit to Beni's Christmas palace. But let me tell you about what happened after that first. Just so you can understand how my Christmas spirit, transformed in the energy of mourning. People see the good, but I'l...

Starting The Year With Purpose

" A young girl staring at fireworks while holding her notebook with goals for the new year"

Hello, Storytime readers from around the world. Here I am, with a new edition of Blogger Notes. I had no idea you guys would love these as much as you do. Can we talk about how fast time goes by? Or at least the concept that we have of time.  On my behalf, I wish you all a happy new year. I know I am a bit late, but I have had some health struggles that prevented me from finishing my stories on time. Thank goodness that is an episode in the adventurous book of life that I now can close. That means I can go back to finishing my stories and sharing them with you, my wonderful readers.

I ended my year with some great people around me, looking forward to 2020 adventures.

We have had some amazing guests on our blog in 2019 who shared their inspiring stories with us. I hope that in 2020 we can have even more amazing people on Storytime who can share their wisdom with us. It doesn't hurt to learn from each other, after all the world we live in wouldn't be able to function the same way if we didn't share technology, art, ideas, stories, designs, inventions, and other valuable information with each other.  I have been thinking about writing more poems on this website as well. You will be able to find them under the Fictional writing category. I am planning on filling in the other topics as well. Making more time in 2020 for this wonderful blog that has come a long way from what it originally used to be. Of course, I am allowed to feel proud of that.  Be sure to hit the subscribe button if you want to keep updated on my latest blog posts.

All in all, I continue carrying the same positive energy I had in 2019 with me in 2020. And I hope to rub some of that positive energy on you guys. May this year give you the strength to keep pursuing your dreams and goals. May all of you find what makes you happy in life. Because I do believe that finding what makes you happy is an experience that everyone deserves.  May life be gentle and kind to you. And most of all may we all be kind and gentle to each other. I can't help it I am a sucker for peace. No wonder I became a Youth Ambassador for Peace.  Let's face it, we both know the world would be a better place if people could be more understanding towards each other. But unfortunately, some souls are ruled by their own selfish interests. I can only hope that they are healed from their own pain so that they would stop hurting others.

But let's start with us because we can make this world a better place for our loved ones one step at a time. One small change starting with you and me can make our lives better for ourselves and the people around us.  That is why I think that is important to love ourselves as well and to take care of ourselves.  Life can get hectic at times, and self-care is still something that I am learning. I think the human ability to learn what is good for us and what isn't is a gift that we shouldn't ignore. Because oftentimes we tend to be wrapped in between what we think and what we feel.  That's the journey we experience living, no wonder we so often get confronted with distractions. It's important for us to not lose focus on who we are.

Trust me when I say that I make it look easier than it actually is. But the experiences I have with the people around me on a daily basis have also made me wiser. The difference between me now, and back then is that more or less I have come to find my identity. It is an experience on its own and as a young person it has opened up my mind to different perspectives. That brings with it peace. Peace because now I know what I have to do to continue evolving as an individual. I think that being (existing) in itself is a marvelous gift the universe presents to us. I could sum up a million reasons why the universe is so kind and giving even when we don't immediately notice it. But that's something I want you to find and appreciate for yourself. Discover who you are will take you to where you are meant to be. This will take you to your purpose. This is also the reason I love asking people who they are on the inside. I like thinking about stuff like this, and in my case finding myself took a while since I had to learn how to find understanding for myself as well. In the same way that I effortlessly had understanding for others. And that is often difficult when few people can understand the person that I am. You could say this is what made me unique in my own way. I had to learn that what I give, I wouldn't always get back. So you have to give to yourself as well. Even that is a form of self-care and love. The moment you can give yourself that kind of love darling it's a whole new world.

But that is enough of my ranting for today. It seems that I have to make my way back to the storyboard.  Excited to see where Storytime will go this year. I hope you guys have as many positive vibes as I do for the year. Feel free to leave behind a comment if you have any suggestions or just send me a message. I don't know if you guys would like me to make these blogger notes longer or not. Feel free to share your opinion about the site, I am always open for feedback. After all, from feedback one can grow as well.
