Hello again, how are you doing today? I am doing fine, I might have had a few slowdowns in my schedule this year because of all the social work that I do ( when don't I?). But giving up is not in our vocabulary. I am determined to make 2022 the year that I practice what I preach and also make more time for the things that I love. It's like a said a couple of years ago in this spoken word video you cannot carry the world on your shoulders if you are not standing strong on your own two feet. Keep in mind that this spoken word video is performed in dutch for a dutch speaking crowd. In the last few years, I have worked hard on standing strong on my feet while still trying to juggle everything else that found its way onto my plate. I am sure you can relate to what that's like. You want to get so much done to shine like the star that you are but at the same time, we are only human. The skills that you possess make you unique and are what make your role special in society. Then it is not about society specifically, it's about the amazing things that can happen in life when we start making a positive impact on each other. It's about how making life easy for the people around you, can make your life easier. When you spread kindness and are acting from good intention, it comes back to you. I have done a lot of work, but I like to believe that good karma helps my hard work pay off. It's either that or the thought of it that gives me pleasure. That's why servant leadership fascinates me. But enough about that, I don't want to bore you with the details. I am here to share with you 5 powerful affirmations to start the day. These 5 powerful affirmations help make my days more productive. Hey, I get it sometimes life happens. It happens to everyone but these affirmations help me deal with that. So here are 5 powerful affirmations to start the day:
1. I am at peace
The first powerful affirmation to start your day that I want to share with you guys is to be at peace. A lot of people lose their peace easily over things that will no longer matter in the future. We all have to face frustrating situations in life, but losing your peace is not the answer. When we are in a peaceful state of mind, body, and soul clarity is within reach. A clouded mind cannot see the trees in between the fog. It is important that we attain peace in our life for our own mental, physical and emotional health. But attaining that peace will only be the beginning of your journey. Protecting your peace is as intense as achieving peace. I like to believe that peace is the remedy for anxiety and perfection. It illuminates insecurities and doubts from our bodies. Don't stress out the heart too much, you of all people should know that your heart doesn't deserve that. Start valuing yourself and your own emotions, because that value will transform into the respect that people give you. Don't mistreat yourself in the same way that others do. Because, how can you betray yourself like that? Being peaceful helps you embrace a more empowering side of life. Especially if you have reached the state where you simply do not allow outside energy or events to disturb your waters. I read in a religious book one time that one should be grounded to the world while being unattached to any worldly things. I'll leave it up to you to guess which one. The point is that your heart and soul deserve to know peace, peace is a symptom of healing. It means we have reached a level where we are willing to unclog all blockages that hinder our well-being. If you are at peace with who you are, how you look and the life that you are gifted then other people their opinions cannot determine your value. You don't rely on their validation, to define your worth. Others are allowed to doubt you, or if you are anything like me you might even encourage them to doubt you. But never doubt yourself, when I wear my crown I know nothing and no one can take it away from me. Because of what my crown symbolizes. You might see me as a clown or any other image at that moment, but the image that you create of me in the few moments that you have known me tells nothing of the person who I am underneath the skin that you judge me by. No matter what your judgment says, at that moment I will remain humble. Simply, because I am at peace with the Queen that I am!
2. My day will be filled with positive experiences
The next powerful positive affirmation that I want to share with you guys is " my day will be filled with positive experiences! Let me explain this from my perspective. When practicing this affirmation you open yourself up for the positive experience, but you are also holding up a boundary to be selective when it comes to your experiences. We are often unaware of our own power because people make us feel like we have no choice. But we forget that it is our life and we are in control of it. We get caught up in the whirlpool of pleasing others, that we don't even get the chance to explore our own identities. When you chose self-love you will have to make the harsh decision to block out everything that is restricting your growth and development. If we only have one life to live, why would we waste it living for others? You can have empathy, love, and understanding for others. But do so for the people that love you and allow you to grow into an authentic and satisfied version of yourself. Make sure that your circumstances and the people in your life value you for the right reason. You get to decide who and what you allow into your life. When you look at it this way, you will realize that the power has always been within but that some people just didn't want you to see that. Those are selfish people that put their needs above everyone else. You cannot live a peaceful life if you allow them to dictate who you should be!
3. I have the ability to crush my goals!
Confidence is key! This affirmation is more to remind you of the badass Queen/ king that you are. You have the ability to crush your goals, and there is no reason why you should not believe in yourself. If you don't trust in your own abilities it is self-sabotage. With self-love, our goal is not only to embrace who we are and what we are capable of but also to eliminate self-sabotaging behavioral patterns. Eliminating doubts help remove anxiety, and when anxiety is out of the way we are able to create. After all, if we never take action and get lost in focusing on perfection we can't create and transform our existence into the meaningful things that move us. The passion that drives us, will only help us thrive even further when we have full confidence that the goals that we have set for ourselves are achievable. In other words, it all starts with a dream. Don't be afraid to chase your dreams and to turn them into your reality. That is something that we can learn from our guests right here on Story Time.
4. I attract the right people on my path
A part of living a meaningful, happy, and content life is having the right people around you. Because it is well known, that having the wrong people around you can be your downfall. The right people will encourage you, love you, and support you. Because they know that when you grow, they can grow along with you. To have a tribe that supports and empowers each other is a blessing. These people will make your life wealthy, simply because they have become a part of your tribe. Sometimes they won't be your own blood, but the sacrifices that you make for each other are what show the strength and love of your tribe.
