Blogger notes: Happy Earth Day
Hello my dearest Story Time readers from around the world, how have you been? Today is Earth day! It's amazing how far technology has gotten us. To think that I can write to you from this country that they call the heart of Suriname and you can consume the words that flow through my essence with ease from other parts of the world. I have a lot more content to share with you about the beauty of our nature right here in Suriname, South America. But for now, my schedule has been a bit hectic with all the courses and projects that I am doing. Somehow I have this intense drive that keeps me going. In light of Earth Day, I decided to take some time, off my busy schedule to write blogger notes regarding this topic. Recently the District Brokopondo had to suffer a series of floods. With everything happening in our world, I think we should be more aware of the little actions that we take regarding our environment. Not only because it is the decade for Action but also because we have to learn to treasure the world around us. Does everyone remember all those forest fires that were happening around the world a couple of years ago? I think we should learn to appreciate nature more. I don't know why humans tend to be so self-destructive. You'd think that in the middle of a climate disaster among other things we'd at least try to make life easier for each other. Of course, I worry about the future, but where there is bad there is also good. There are a lot of activists, organizations, leaders, and good people that are trying to make a difference. There are not only spreading awareness, but they are also taking action. They are people just like you and me, with a love for our planet. These are the people that deserve to be celebrated! Do you see how beautiful nature can be? Not only in my part of the Amazon. But each part of the world has its own beautiful and unique places filled with history. Let's protect our earth, and let's do what we can to save our planet. Without it, there is no future for mankind. There is no future for our grandchildren and our great-grandchildren. That's why among all the chaos that's happening in the world I am asking each one of you to take one action with kindness and love that makes the place around you just a little bit better. If we all do our part, we can start taking care of nature and show her as much love as we receive. It breaks my heart how we tear apart the very things that are supposed to sustain our life and has sustained the lives of our ancestors. Look at the rivers that are heavily polluted, and the rainforest that is being torn apart for gold, diamonds, wood, and other resources. The ocean was damaged by oil leakages. Even though I am a Surinamese person and my country is heavily dependent and marketing on oil, I don't share the same vision. Innovation and technology have proven to bring to life what mankind long thought to be impossible. There are electric cars that have roads that charge them as they drive, scientists even figured out how to make batteries that can last thousands of years from diamond. Innovation holds the key to our future, and innovation is fueled by creativity. Imagine if we were all to work on ourselves and let go of our barriers. Think of all the things we could create and invent when that spark of creation hits. But instead of building and creating weapons of destruction, let's use the gifts that we have to heal this planet. To save our home, because without it we won't have a place where we can explore who we are as a species and how we can keep evolving! You are a part of the solution, you are a part of the future, and each action that you take matters! No matter how small we start, let's make some impact during this decade of action and I wish all of you a happy Earth day! Feel free to explore yourself, your talent, and your skills. Show yourself the love that you need, it is by committing these small acts that we equip ourselves with the tools that can change the course of humanity and our planet for the better. There are so many beautiful places on this planet that deserved to be treasured. In the meantime, jump onto the Story Time U.F.O. if you don't want to miss any of my other stories. My memory is jammed, so I am working on fixing that and as soon as that is solved I will be posting more content about my recent adventures right here on Story Time with you guys. How do you plan on making an impact when it comes to saving our Earth? If we actually want to make a difference we will all have to own up to our actions and do the right thing. Let's keep this planet alive, so I can at least get to explore more parts of it! Until next time guys, and keep spreading the awareness.
