Hello, my dearest Story Time readers from around the world! 🌍 How have you been? I am back with another Story Time, and today we’re diving into the famous Roopram Roti located in Paramaribo Centrum.

The Roopram Phenomenon

I’ve been frequently posting about the different Roopram locations I’ve visited over on my TikTok channel, and I’ve really appreciated all your feedback! 🤳 A lot of you mentioned you aren't the biggest fans of their roti. I get it—franchised roti produced in large quantities can’t quite compete with a traditional, homemade Surinamese roti. 👩‍🍳

However, judging by the crowds at every location, they must be doing something right! When it comes to Surinamese cuisine, Roopram has built an unstoppable brand—especially with their convenient drive-thru roti services. 🚗💨

The Veggie Experience 🥔

During this visit, I wanted to test out their vegetarian roti roll. I headed to the Centrum branch, though I have to be honest: the staff wasn't quite as friendly as the teams at other locations. 😕

What’s inside? The veggie roti roll is a delicious mix of:

  • Aloo (potatoes) cooked in savory masala

  • Fresh long beans (kousenband)

  • All wrapped up in a soft roti like a burrito! 🌯

It’s the perfect, filling snack for when you’re in a hurry and need a quick bite on the go. 🏃‍♀️✨
