Exploring Earth Cultures: Touch China Fair 🚀🌸

Hey space travelers! Shachem Lieuw here with a new transmission from Earth. I know, I know… this event happened last year, but I’m finally getting around to sharing it! I’m still struggling with my content backlog—gasp! As a certain juggling alien loves to mention on her blog, keeping up with Earth time and content schedules is no easy feat. But better late than never, right? In today’s space dome adventure, I’m taking you  to the  Touch China Fair , hosted by the Confucius Institute Suriname and sponsored by the Chinese Embassy,  at Ballroom Prince. Art, Tea, and High-Tech Space Models 🤖 The fair featured incredible displays of traditional arts, including Chinese calligraphy, tea art, and Chinese paper folding (origami). They even had a stunningly pretty Phoenix Crown ( Fengguan ) on display! Plus, not to brag, but I got to meet Labubu.😄😅 As a huge tech geek, my favorite part was the technology section. The Roopram Phenomenon

I’ve been frequently posting about the different Roopram locations I’ve visited over on my TikTok channel, and I’ve really appreciated all your feedback! 🤳 A lot of you mentioned you aren't the biggest fans of their roti. I get it—franchised roti produced in large quantities can’t quite compete with a traditional, homemade Surinamese roti. 👩‍🍳

However, judging by the crowds at every location, they must be doing something right! When it comes to Surinamese cuisine, Roopram has built an unstoppable brand—especially with their convenient drive-thru roti services. 🚗💨

The Veggie Experience 🥔

During this visit, I wanted to test out their vegetarian roti roll. I headed to the Centrum branch, though I have to be honest: the staff wasn't quite as friendly as the teams at other locations. 😕

What’s inside? The veggie roti roll is a delicious mix of:

  • Aloo (potatoes) cooked in savory masala

  • Fresh long beans (kousenband)

  • All wrapped up in a soft roti like a burrito! 🌯

It’s the perfect, filling snack for when you’re in a hurry and need a quick bite on the go. 🏃‍♀️✨
