Halloween At Zin Resort In Paramaribo

Halloween At Grand Cafe Zin In Paramaribo My dear Story Time friends, I am writing you again to share another memory from tropical Paramaribo. I often feel like time goes by too fast. We're already in November and the days seem to pass like seconds. Highly aware of how short life can be, there are certain moments I treasure. These are the moments I often share on my blog. Posting these articles makes me feel as if somehow a part of me becomes immortal with the click of the publish button. Maybe that's why I always like sharing a dose of reality here and there. A few days before Halloween, it was Kara's birthday. We decided to plan a day of fun together with our friends. I did not go swimming all summer and it was starting to get on my nerves! My body craved cooling down in a swimming pool. We work for days in a row trying to build this vision. Sometimes it feels like life bumps us around. But I've learned to trust in the universe. I believe that some things happen f

Night out at KFC and MC Donald's before the gas prices went up in Suriname

Story Time: Night out at KFC and McDonald's before the gas prices went up in Suriname

"Shachem Lieuw at restaurant de verdieping in Paramaribo"

Hello my dearest Story Time friends from around the world how have you been? As I am writing to you now, the situation in my home country Suriname is very chaotic. Mostly I avoid writing about politics on my blog. Except for maybe the old posts that I got rid of. But those were only talking about my personal experiences and adventures in the political field in this South American country. But what has happened in the last couple of days has been very shocking to the Surinamese people.  The political party that I am a part of the National Party Suriname decided to step out of government and held a press conference about that. A couple of days later protests were held that were planned and organized in advance. Unfortunately, these protests went out of hand. If you want to know more about what happened feel free to google it. The internet is full of videos and content about the scary plunderings, robberies, and fires being started in the country.  Everyone has their own perspective on what happened. The only thing I can say is that it bleeds my heart to see my beloved country in such a situation. And for what? 👀😓😤😣
I keep explaining to my people politicians and the lies. Surinamese people have put their fate in the wrong leaders so many times, and that's how we got here. 😖 The foundation that my generation, the so-called promised generation was meant to have has been destroyed. If we keep going on at this rate even the generations after me will suffer from the bad decisions that the political leaders of this country have made. We are rich in natural resources, but the debt hanging over us doesn't provide promising prospects for the future. It's no secret that the people are unhappy, but what good will destruction bring to a nation that's already drowning in debt?😓 In the last couple of years my motto has been power does not speak, it acts. I just hope that you keep the well-being of our people, our nation, and our future in your prayers. To my people be smart, and safe. I just wanted to share a bit about the overwhelming situation at the moment in Suriname. But it's a good thing the police and the military took action and caught some of the troublemakers. They even retrieved some of the stolen items from the plundering. A couple of weeks before this incident I went to visit the Hermitage mall for this Story Time episode. I went on the night before the new gas prices were announced. The new prices created long lines and traffic since everyone wanted to fill their tank up before the new rates went in. That was nothing compared to the situation today. For a country that's rich in oil, the future of oil provisions seems uncertain. The government is behind on subsidy payments. People have been standing in line for hours at the Go2 (Surinamese Staatsolie-owned service stations). In the hopes that this situation gets better, I share with you my Story Time adventure. We went to McDonald's and I got a chocolate sundae. Unfortunately, they didn't give me any peanuts to add on top of my sundae. Normally you are supposed to get those along with your order of Sundae ice cream. We also ordered a family meal combo. That came with 5 pieces of spicy chicken, 2 sides of fries, and 1 large cola bottle. I was craving some spicy food. So we went to KFC that's right across the Hermitage mall, in the same building as Posh. We made use of the MC Donald's and KFC drive-thru. At the MC Donald's drive-thru, we had to wait in their parking lot for a while before our order was finished. But at the KFC drive-thru, we didn't have to wait long at all. At the KFC drive-thru, I ordered their double cruncher with a side of spicy sauce. The KFC drive-thru is located right next to the car center with the pretty cars. You won't miss it!  I made a video about my food adventure for you guys. Before you watch it, don't forget to subscribe to my Story Time blog when you see that U.F.O. 👾👽 pop up on your screen. You could also subscribe by entering your email address under the follow it option in the sidebar. I appreciate all the support that I get on my content creation journey.💖 If you like spicy food, you will love the spicy taste of the KFC faya cruncher. The McDonald's spicy chicken has a light spicy kick to it. But that doesn't make it any less delicious than it is. Enjoy my video guys and until next time, right here on Story Time. Maybe when things settle down, and peace returns to the country you get the chance to not only experience the beauty of Suriname but to also taste its diverse food options. There are a lot of strange things happening around the world. But that won't stop me from exploring or sharing my adventures with you guys.💕
