Late night food adventure at Popeyes Lelydorp in Suriname

Late-night food adventure at Popeyes Lelydorp

"Shachem Lieuw at Popeyes Lelydorp in Suriname"

Hello my dearest Story Time friends from around the world, how have you been? Well, I had one rough week.😓😒 I hope your days were a lot better though. 💓People often like to write and share about the positive things in their life. I'm not always someone who opens up like a book to read. That energy I'd rather put into creating the books that you enjoy reading. 😻 At least that's one of the good things happening in my life. Okay, you have the good and the bad. Life is giving me quite a beating and this wasn't how I imagined 30 to be. Something that I hyped up a couple of months ago on my blog. Now I'm just breathing and taking the smacks in my face as I realize it's a part of my journey. It helped me understand my strengths, but it also exposed my weaknesses. I'm not going to burden you with the details of what I call a stroke of bad luck or maybe an intensive adventure the universe is preparing me for? Sometimes I like to mention these things in my stories to remind people that it's all in the game of life like someone once taught me! We all go through bad episodes and struggles and for a while it wanted to play with my mind as I struggled to find time to breathe or time to write and create! Hence it's been a while and I've had so many more unfinished adventures to finish. I know this is a foodie adventure, but not all adventures have a happy beginning, twist, or end! When I face rough times I just remind myself of all the self-love articles I wrote. That's what keeps me inspired to believe in myself! In this rough chapter of my life most of the time that's the only thing I hold onto. But this hasn't been my first rodeo with bad experiences!😤 I might judge it as the toughest right now, a momentarily vague truth as the priorities in life constantly switch!😒 The reason I'm starting this Story Time adventure is to inspire others to not give up, no matter how rough your week was! I met someone and he told me about the bad things that happened to him, and although in my mind he had a mere scar compared to my inner bleeding he spoke about depression. He told me about how he felt like his life was falling apart because he was falling back compared to other people his age. That's when I realized that we fall for the illusions. We're so fed with positive stories on social media and in society that we create imaginarily standards and timelines in our heads. I on the other hand am aware that there is always someone stuck in a deeper gutter. But I am also aware that in the end, it won't matter. When our coffins hit the ground there is no more incentive to stress.😥😭That's the sad less glamorous reality of life. So it doesn't matter if I'm doing good or bad, I'll always root for you!💓💋 If you're grounded, it brings more stability to our society, and for you! As I make my mistakes and learn I leave this hopefully eternal wisdom laying around on the world wide web. Now back to the Story Time foodie adventure! It feels good to be writing and sharing new adventures with you guys again! Sometimes I really just need to get away from all the sound and people around me just to get some time squeezed in for my stories.😣It's scary the changes life forced me to make. And I often get the feeling that the people around me don't understand 😪. This is the part of the story where the superhero shows up late for class, work, and everything else they got going on in their life because they were out saving the world. Nevertheless, our hero has an interesting food adventure to unravel for you. Our late-night food adventure takes us to Popeyes Lelydorp in Suriname. That's right Louisiana's kitchen found its way to Lelydorp! It all started one night when I was tired from working and felt overwhelmed by a lot of things! I was hungry and my friend suggested let's go to Lelydorp to pin some cash and get some Popeyes. I didn't want to leave my house, especially since I felt stressed out and had a lot of paperwork to finish. But my friend insisted and said it would be good for me to get some fresh air. ( When will I learn to listen to my gut instinct? Inner me is already like ugh see why you get into these situations!)👀😹😹My friend offered to treat me and that's how I got dragged out of my house. We got a ride to Lelydorp but when we got there none of the ATMs worked.😧We almost got stranded there but at least Popeyes Lelydorp let us buy food. The banking system in Suriname is very stressful right now. That's why some locations also take an extra fee from your bill for card payments. If you're traveling in Suriname, don't take risks! Always have cash on hand! In the following days, I heard many people complain about the out-of-order ATMs throughout the country. A lot of people on Lelydorp were also disappointed! An emotional man was complaining about how he had to buy food for his kid.😱😰 Lately I've also noticed that the situation in Suriname has become so demotivating for locals that a lot of my friends have left the country for good!A decision I understand, but I'm not one of those people who want to abandon my beautiful country! It's tattooed in my heart! This is my home and despite the stressful situation or how limited the growth potential for writers in Suriname is, I believe that some good people need to stay behind. It's not the first time this South American and Caribbean country has had to deal with brain drainage. I like to live and roam with my people who do stay behind. Let me explore the depths of my country and see how far I can take myself despite the odds! I'm already breaking barriers by simply having the opportunity to take you guys along on my food and travel adventures! At Popeyes, we got the spicy chicken 4-piece meal with fries and the bun. I love their bun and fries! That grape jam flavor included in the meal blends so well with Popeye's bun. I made a video for you guys about my late-night food adventure at Popeyes Lelydorp in Suriname. In this video, I'm also reviewing the apple pie on Popeye's dessert menu. On the day I went they were open till late at night because the next day was a national holiday in the country. On the 5th of June 2023, 150 years of Indian Immigration were celebrated in Suriname. The descendants of the first Indian immigrants have integrated well with the other cultures in Suriname. A country where we share each other's food and culture with love! In my future blog posts, I'll explore more sides of the Indian culture in Suriname with you guys. It might be fun to see the similarities for my audience from India.💓Thank you, guys, for being the biggest audience on my Youtube channel. I wanted to bring you guys fun activities that were held in honor of the Indian Immigration but like I said I'm having an interesting adventure of my own with the universe. One I look forward to conquering on my own! Wish me lots of love and luck on my adventures! I'll try to share some more stories with you when I can. That's why it means a lot to me when you jump onto that Story Time U.F.O. and subscribe to my blog!👽👾By becoming a part of our tribe the Story Time saucer will zap my adventures straight to your inbox. 🛸

Paint Shopping And Food Stop At Warung Resa

Paint Shopping And Food Stop At Warung Resa Hello Story Time friends, welcome back! I'm taking you along on another vlog. This video was made on a hectic day. I split the content of my adventures into different parts. So make sure you subscribe and stay tuned. There are a lot of stories that I still have to finish. I wish I had more time for my creative projects. But with my lifestyle in Suriname that is not realistic! Anyway, we're going paint shopping in different stores. I visited HJ De Vries, Malhoe's Building Materials, and a Historex retailer. When we were done combing through stores for our project, I was hungry and tired! So we decided to go to Warung Resa. Their Javanese food reminds me of my late grandmother's and aunt's cooking. It's flavorful and authentic. We had the Gudanang and the Long Tong Tahoe. Both are traditional dishes in Javanese culture. Long Tong Tahoe is made with bean sprouts, Tahoe, and chicken. It's then drizzled with a spicy

Green Key Expo At Torarica

Green Awareness Expo At Torarica Hola mi amigos welcome back to a new Story Time adventure! There is a vibrant city in the beating heart of the Amazon rainforest! This city is rich with multi-ethnic culture and flavorful food. Of course, I am talking about Paramaribo. Living in the Amazon Rainforest, we're surrounded by greenery. But these parts of the Amazon Rainforest haven't been unaffected by global warming. The recent droughts where multiple rivers and creeks were empty is an example. The gold mining and wood exploitation that happens in our jungles is affecting the beauty of our land. Protecting the Amazon Rainforest means protecting the lungs of the world. Green awareness is a topic that's often mentioned in this part of the world. Hotel Torarica organized a Green Key fair and of course, I had to visit! Now I can finally share the Story with you guys! Creating these Story Time episodes takes a lot of work. So I'd appreciate it if you subscribe and join our tri

Shadows Of Love

Shadows Of Love Sometimes you must shuffle the deck a few times to be dealt the right hand. And sometimes you meet that King Of Hearts in the first move that the game will demand. In the shadows of love, there are many secrets hidden. Something about you felt familiar, calm, and at the same time forbidden. I wonder what the universe was conspiring when our paths crossed. From a distance, I felt your eyes capture my soul. Maybe this is a story that should never be told! But they say that if you want to enter the paradise of lovers you have to pay the toll! A friend once asked me a question, he said: " What is it you are looking for now that we are getting old?". I told him I wanted someone who could spark my mind, soul, and maybe my inner sexual being. After he exposed the beauty hidden in my poetry, thoughts kept flirting with this hidden feeling. Sometimes we need the right people to ask us the right questions! But sometimes when the ones we hide in our hearts want to kno

Lunch At Hotel Torarica

Lunch At Hotel Torarica Hello friends, as you noticed, the Story Time U.F.O. hasn't taken off from Torarica yet! When we finished checking in at Royal Torarica we were hungry! It's good that we were only a short walk from Torarica. Through the backyard of Royal Torarica, we found our way into the restaurant of Hotel Torarica. We sat in their dining room and ordered food from their menu. In my vlog, you will see the food items and prices listed on Hotel Torarica's menu. I had some chicken with corn. My plate was filled with greens and even had a chicken sate included. It was delicious! But my favorite had to be the truffle wedges! If you are visiting Hotel Torarica, I'd definitely recommend trying it! They are topped with parmesan cheese. A simple but buttery and flavorful dish. Stew ordered a fish dish that came with watermelon. It was relaxing to have dinner in the backyard of Torarica. We could hear the birds chirping and some birds even landed on our tables. But k

Story time with Donovan Dongo, Dongo brothers selected for W.W.E

Storytime with Donovan Dongo, Dongo Brothers selected  The Dongo brothers holding the Surinamese flag in front of the  W.W.E performance center in America. Today I have some good news for the people of Suriname. I know I am a bit late with this story, but what can I say. I have been having problems with my Internet provider for a while now.  If you live in Suriname, you probably can relate. But on with Storytime, today we are going to talk about the Dongo brothers.  These guys have proven that dreams do come true, with a lot of hard work and effort.  The World Wrestling Entertainment (W.W.E) has selected Donovan and Leandro Dongo to represent Suriname. They made it past their last tryouts and were selected out of 30.000 applicants. The Dongo brothers have proven what they are made of, but they have also put Suriname on the world map when it comes to wrestling entertainment.  Donovan Dongo shares his experiences with Storytime in a video he recorded. But since I have a

Blogger notes: Happy new year! Storytime in 2022

Happy new year, Storytime in 2022 Hi guys, I want to wish all of you a happy new year. I am learning to stay positive no matter the circumstances. Throughout the years I have become a professional at it. The weird thing is, the better I get at it the better my skills become. I have to say I am proud of myself for getting through last year. There were some painful lessons, as usual. I have come to learn that they are a part of the journey that helps me build my successes. The more I embraced positivity the less my anxiety became.  Anxiety can be a messed-up demon, but the warrior in me kind of grew tired of it and decided to stab it. That's the problem when you know how strong you are.  The only thing is, I just wasn't in a hurry to grow up. Especially if you grew up in the public eye like I did. But I have no regrets. Because each step that I made in life also led me to beautiful people and beautiful experiences. The more content I feel with my life, the more my inn
