D**mn It Sharona!

D**mn It Sharona! Hello friends, I am back! With 5 days left before the elections, I feel super relaxed during my journey. If I get elected I'll become a member of the Surinamese parlement. This would be a great opportunity for me to help many people! Something, I enjoy doing. If I don't get in, I'll keep helping people in a hundred different ways. I might be a young Surinamese girl, but my idealistic vision for the future is crystal clear. 😉 There is a reason why they say multiple roads lead to Rome!😀😂 Despite my introverted approach at campaigning, I've received so much love, warmth and support from the people around me! As a young Surinamese leader, I'm melting from experiencing the kind of love money could never buy!😅💚 I am appreciative of the journey and I listen to the movement pushing me. Okay, I'll admit it if it was up to me I'd shy away from the spotlight. 😅😆 But in a way, a lot of people manifested this for me. Something my google photo ...

 Midnight Creeps: Haunted Plantation

"Illustration of Surinamese slaves working on a sugar plantation"

Hello friends, how have you been? We're already in October! Gasp, time does go by fast.😏 It's the month of Halloween and I've finally got to posting this episode of Midnight Creeps on my blog. As you know we're counting down Halloween with a creepy story each Friday night at Midnight! Welcome to episode 5 called " Haunted Plantation". This Story Time episode is inspired by my visit to plantation Frederiksdorp in Commewijne. On this plantation, many cruel things happened, and the history tour I took only inspired my creativity. I already launched episode 6 of Midnight Creeps, but unfortunately, my audio didn't come out correctly during that livestream. I'll have to redo that one, and it's a real pity because that one was the best so far. It takes us on an adventure to the realm of the King of Halloween Town. But at least you guys get to enjoy episode 5 of Midnight Creeps. If you are new to my Story Time blog, make sure to subscribe or follow my blog! That way you'll be the first to receive my exclusive content in your inbox. Today is Marroon Day in Suriname. On this day we celebrate our Marroon brothers and sisters. Eons ago they fled the plantations to look for freedom deep in the beating heart of the Amazon rainforest. They didn't have an easy life and had to hide from the Redi Musu's and other armies sent to hunt them down. It was a risk that they were willing to take to be free from the reign of their cruel plantation masters. In the eyes of the rich plantation owners, they were nothing but stock. Now their descendants are still living in Suriname thanks to the bravery of their ancestors. I wish all Surinamese people a happy Marroon day! May you guys experience happienis and abundance in building up your community.
"Marroon day being celebrated in Suriname illustration"

This illustration was inspired by my time spent in the Marroon Villages of Suriname. I got to learn their culture, traditions and their lifestyle. The best thing about being in Suriname is that each time I travel to another part of the country it's like visiting a whole new world. Different people, cultures and traditions sharing love under one vlag. But that might be for another Story Time episode!
👽👾🛸 Have fun watching my video and see you at next week's episode of Midnight Creeps. I'll be waiting for you with more stories from right here in tropical Suriname.💓
