Beni's Christmas Palace In Suriname

Beni's Christmas Palace In Suriname Just like in the photo above this text, I am okay but I am not completely okay. I feel awful on the inside and for a long time it was difficult to find the motivation to return to blogging.  Tomorrow's Christmas, so I mustered all of my strength to at least finish another episode. I've been gone for a while because as usual, life got hectic. But this time in a bad way! As you guys know a while ago I started a company in Suriname. Most of my days were spent creating Story Time episodes, working, doing social work or going along to get a taste of the field.  When we go to clients, sometimes I get to see awesome places. Or in between on our journeys we tend to make pitstops. This Story Time episode is supposed to be about my visit to Beni's Christmas palace. But let me tell you about what happened after that first. Just so you can understand how my Christmas spirit, transformed in the energy of mourning. People see the good, but I'l...

Out With 2023 And In With 2024

Out With 2023 And In With 2024!

s"Shachem Lieuw, writer and blogger at Story Time Productions"

Hello friends, here in warm tropical Suriname we're counting down the last hour before 2024 starts. After all my experiences for 2023, I'm glad to be closing this year. I had a difficult year, but through it all, I still flourished. After all a cactus flower in the desert will flourish no matter how dry it gets. In this blogger note, I want to take the time to shout out to my readers and viewers. You guys have inspired me to keep creating and sharing amazing stories. In 2024, you can expect many more episodes. First of all, I want to thank my book readers. You guys have inspired me on my writing journey. As I continue to grow I look forward to writing many more thrilling books for you guys.
"Book readers stats"
I always loved writing! From a young age, I picked up the talent and kept developing my craft. But I had no idea that people from around the world would be reading books from a Surinamese writer. In my country, they say you can't do a lot with writing. Recently I read an article that in Suriname to acquire a best-seller, you need to sell 500 copies. I don't want to be the bragging person. Most of the people back home don't even know about my writing life. But compared to Surinamese standards, my readers have helped me climb the ladder beyond expectations.

Being able to say that people from all continents have read your work on the last day of the year, feels good. It's certainly an accomplishment worth celebrate while the fireworks are being shot in the background. It took a lot of hard work to get to this point. Being a writer isn't always as easy as it looks. It requires so much more, but maybe I might go in-depth about that in another Story Time episode. This year I've experimented a lot with adding vlogs on my website. I used YouTube to help my stories come to life. Even on that platform I patiently build a diverse international audience who tune in to watch my Story Time episodes. I love how technology has helped me to express my creativity.

On my website, I got to share food and travel adventures that highlighted the beauty of Suriname. I got to share the unique places located in this Caribbean country.  All your support and love for my content lead to amazing collaborations. Like Story Time with Courtyard by Marriot in Paramaribo for example. I also got to share the stories of talented Surinamese people. For me, Story Time also allowed me to show the world what Suriname and its talents are all about. When I started this blog I had no idea that it would grow into what I now call Story Time Productions.

I'm actually excited to see what next year will bring! That's why I say out with 2023 and in with 2024. As usual, I'll be putting my best foot forward to launch and publish creations for you. If you loved the video games that I launched this year, you can expect plenty more! All the adventures I've been on have inspired me with stories. It just takes a lot of time and effort to take an idea and turn it into a reality. But luckily I've never been a quitter. With a determined face, I enter 2024. It's just a couple of minutes to go and then my new year will start. This blog started as an outlet, but now it has become so much more for me.

I realized that my writing and creations are one of the few things that will outlive me. That's why I've always poured my heart and soul into building Story Time Productions. 2024, will become the 14th year that I'm running this blog.😏 I have to take off my glasses for this part. Time always goes by fast and waits for no-one. But my drive and passion won't stop me from building and sharing my talents. From the moment I decided to crawl out of my shell, I was ready to keep painting until my masterpiece was finished.

Of course, once the master has finished one work of art, it won't take long for him to start a new project. That's exactly what the magic of passion does! A lot of people create, but in my country, not many can monetize that. My talent, skill, and a lot of practice have made this possible for me. That's why I realized long ago that having talent is not everything. There are many talented people, but they lack discipline, dedication, and heart. I'm not trying to break anyone's spirit. All I'm saying is that if you guys are starting 2024 and you have goals that you want to achieve go for it! Be dedicated, no matter what you are going through. I face struggles all the time, but that doesn't stop me from pursuing my passions. It's already midnight guys, happy new year. I wish you nothing but the best on your journey.
