I tried wood seal carving!

  Hold on to your space seats, because the story time U.F.O. is back at it again, zapping fresh stories straight from the mothership into your inbox! 🛸 If you’ve been following my blog or my ShachemLieuw YouTube channel for a while, you probably already know I’ve been deep-diving into learning Mandarin and exploring more about my Chinese heritage. Well, my latest mission involved signing up for a wood seal carving class, and I liked it so much that I’ve officially decided to purchase a wood seal carving kit and turn this into a permanent hobby! 🧰✍️ Fun plot twist: we didn't actually work with real wood. We got to practice on erasers! But it was still super fun learning all the traditional carving techniques. (For those wondering, the Chinese carving knife used for this is called an intou or bidao —often referred to as an iron pen or a graver!) Once upon a time in a place far away, there lived a young woman. She had the spirit of a phoenix. Throughout her entire life, she thrived despite all the hurdles and obstacles life threw her way. She knew she was never meant to live an easy life. She simply wasn't born for it. Embracing her destiny, she followed her heart. There were many times that she fell and tripped over the knots of her life. But each time she'd pray and stand up again. Her blind faith in herself and the love of the universe helped her soar over mountains others declared impossible to climb. When her phoenix wings got clipped by circumstances, her flames still burned bright. Somewhere, she had to believe that whichever God put her on earth had a divine reason for her life. This belief became the source of her strength. In the end, her story only reached a point where she appreciated the journey and the people who made it worthwhile.
