As you guys know from my previous posts, it was my birthday not long ago! On the 29th of October I was born in Suriname, Flora to be more precise. I'm a Scorpio girl with a passion for writing. That I love my country is no secret! In Suriname, I'm spoiled like a Queen. My home is where my people surround me with love and positivity. Most important of all, they try to understand. They might not always get it right, but they do try to understand. We are all that we got and in my small community that means a lot! This is certainly something I can be grateful for in my life.💓
I celebrated my birthday at Houttuyn Wellness River Resort in Suriname. This place was one of the first resorts I interviewed when I decided to change my blogging strategy. I'll insert the link to all my Houttuyn Wellness River Resort-related articles at the end of this article. On my birthday I had my dinner at the restaurant of this popular Surinamese river resort. After swimming in that gorgeous bubble pool right next to the Suriname River, I went into the Maxi Cabana to change my clothes. Once I changed into my dress I put on my crown and my birthday girl ribbon, just because I could. It's a short walk to the restaurant. When I found my seat right next to the river a lady asked me; " Queen is it your birthday?". I was like heck yeah! Queens deserve to be extra, especially since we're aging. My time on this planet deserves to be celebrated. Maybe, I too can be a gift to the world.😎😊 Or at least that's what my inner idealist whispers at the back of my mind. Because I had the relax wellness package I was allowed to have one meal for dinner or lunch. I decided to make use of my relaxation package benefits and opted for dinner. We ordered shrimp pasta and some grilled chicken. My favorite was the shrimp pasta! It came with lots of jumbo shrimp. Some Surinamese restaurants barely add any shrimp to your plate. But this was not the case in the kitchen of Houttuyn's Wellness Resort. My plate of pasta arrived on my table filled with jumbo shrimp. It was a cheesy yet flavorful experience for my tastebuds! The pasta was delicious and I enjoyed sucking on those juicy shrimp.😍🍤I loved the pasta! I had no regrets about ordering that at all. The grilled chicken came with potatoes that had a cheese filling. It also tasted good, but I preferred the shrimp pasta. Although the grilled vegetables that came with it were a chef's kiss! The sauce was divine and made me crave more. I don't know how they made the vegetables taste that good, but I'd eat those greens all day long.😋🥕 Even the potatoes tasted amazing!🥔 For dessert I ordered a tasty and creamy chocolate dream cake.🎂It consists of three chocolate layers.🍫 I didn't get to film cutting through that for you guys because I forgot to do so while I was entertaining my guests. My friends had visited me and surprised me. When you're staying at the resort you're allowed to have 5 guests. If you are expecting any family or friends to come over, it's best if you notify the front desk. Guests are required to make use of the restaurant.
