Eid at Javaweg: A Cultural Journey Through Suriname 🌙✨ Hello everyone! Shachem Lieuw here from Story Time Productions . I am so excited to finally share a special piece of my backlog with you all. As I continue to upload my collection of adventures, today we are diving deep into the vibrant, soul-stirring celebration of Eid al-Fitr at Javaweg! Celebrating Eid in Suriname 🕌 In Suriname, Eid al-Fitr is a beautiful testament to our multicultural harmony. This year, the festivities brought the Javanese community together in a display of faith, joy, and unity. "Shachem Lieuw at hotel Courtyard by Marriott in Suriname"

Hi guys, I'm happy to return with another Story Time episode. We're approaching the end of November. Doesn't time go by fast? Before you know it, the year will be at its end. In other countries, the season of giving is already celebrated. But here in Suriname, we're counting down the days to celebrate our " srefidensi". Srefidensi is a sranang tongo word that means independence, or being free and acting according to one's own will. On November 25, 1975, Suriname became an independent country. Previously, we were a colony that belonged to the Dutch. How they acquired us is another story! I'll be publishing stories regarding our Independence Day soon. Be sure to subscribe to my blog!👽👾🛸 By subscribing, you'll be the first to receive my adventures and stories straight in your inbox. In this Story Time episode, we'll be talking about " Meat Us". This restaurant is located within the Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Suriname. In my previous Story Time episodes, we already encountered "Meat Us". I'll be adding all links related to Courtyard by Marriott in Paramaribo at the end of this post. The last time I visited the Courtyard by Marriott, I was impressed by how much the place had changed. During our previous foodie adventure, where we had the opportunity to meet the executive chef, he explained to me that they were planning to open more restaurants. They aim to create a diverse foodie environment where you can find a wide variety of dishes from around the world, in a way that also represents our food culture in Suriname. We have dishes in our kitchen that come from all around the world. At Marriott, they also have an international team of chefs who work diligently behind the scenes to bring a flavorful experience to your table. I got some takeout and ordered the grilled chicken spinach burger from " Meat Us". When I opened my takeout order, I was impressed! The burger was massive! I loved that they managed to add the restaurant's logo onto the burger. The chicken patty was big and flavorful! I loved the burger so much that I'm drooling just thinking about it. Despite the long trip home, the fries remained crisp. I've made a video for you to take a closer look at the chicken spinach burger from Meat Us. I hope you enjoy it!
