Sharona The Elections Are Near!

Sharona, The Elections Are Near! In Suriname, we're counting down towards the elections on the 25th of May 2025. 😂 Unexpectedly, I landed myself in this race, with the opportunity to be a voice for the people of Suriname. 💚 I've heard the people's stories and their pleas.  When I see how unheard they feel, it hurts me. Maybe that's why I try to take a different approach to politics. I understand what it's like to feel the way they do. We live in a world where politicians often forget the needs and desires of the people who feed and pour into them. When their hopes and dreams are used as currency and traded to feed the selfish needs of a small group. I know that for a long time, Surinamese people have felt stuck in a loop! It's hard to know who to trust when everyone approaches you. During my campaign, I'm not here to win souls! I'm out here to share a message that we can be the change we need to make this country a place we're proud to call home...

"Shachem Lieuw at hotel Courtyard by Marriott in Suriname"

Hi guys, I'm happy to return with another Story Time episode. We're approaching the end of November. Doesn't time go by fast? Before you know it, the year will be at its end. In other countries, the season of giving is already celebrated. But here in Suriname, we're counting down the days to celebrate our " srefidensi". Srefidensi is a sranang tongo word that means independence, to be free and act according to one's own will. On the 25th of November in the year 1975 Suriname became an independent country. Previously we were a colony that belonged to the Dutch. How they acquired us is another story! I'll be publishing stories regarding our Independence Day soon. So make sure that you subscribe to my blog!👽👾🛸 By subscribing you'll be the first to receive my adventures and stories straight in your inbox. In this Story Time episode, we'll be talking about " Meat Us". This restaurant belongs to hotel Courtyard by Marriott in Suriname. In my previous Story Time episodes we already encountered Meat Us. I'll be adding all links related to Courtyard by Marriott in Paramaribo at the end of this post. The last time I visited Courtyard by Marriott I was impressed at how much the place had changed. During our previous foodie adventure where we got to meet the executive chef, he explained to me that they were going to open more restaurants. They aim to create a diverse foodie environment, where you can find all kinds of dishes from around the world. In a way that also represents our food culture in Suriname. We have dishes in our kitchen that come from all around the world. At Marriott, they also have an international team of chefs who work hard behind the scenes to serve a flavorful experience right onto your table. I got some takeout and ordered the grilled chicken spinach burger from the "Meat Us" restaurant. When I opened my take-out order I was impressed! The burger was massive! I loved that they managed to add the restaurants' logo onto the burger. The chicken patty was big and flavorful! I loved the burger so much that I'm drooling just thinking about it. Despite the long trip home, the fries didn't turn soggy. I made a video for you guys to have a closer look at the chicken spinach burger from Meat Us. I hope you enjoy it!
