Ditch the Cashpoint: Why Foreigners Should Skip the Cashpoint ATMs in Suriname

Ditch the Cashpoint: Why Foreigners Should Skip the Cashpoint ATMs in Suriname (By Shachem Lieuw, Story Time Productions) Hey there, fellow travelers. Shachem here, and let me tell you, I've been bursting to share this with you for ages. Finally, the stars aligned, and I have a moment to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard, as it were). Lately, I've been seeing an increasing number of comments on social media from visitors like yourselves complaining about problems using their Mastercards and Visa cards in Suriname. The struggles are real, and I hear you. The truth is, while we're making progress, international Mastercards and Visas aren't accepted everywhere in this beautiful country. You'll find some high-end hotels and restaurants catering to tourists will gladly swipe your card. But don't expect the same level of acceptance when you're exploring smaller businesses, local markets, or venturing outside the main tourist hubs. It's not a universal...

Standard Room At Eco Torarica And Dinner At Chimin

"Shachem Lieuw At Chimin In Suriname"

Welcome back to another Story Time foodie adventure in tropical Suriname. If you caught my previous Story Time episode, you'll know that we checked into Eco Torarica. In this episode, you'll get a better peek at the standard rooms from Eco Torarica. This hotel has a quieter but relaxing vibe. Its design is made to match the surrounding serenity of nature. We checked in for Stew's birthday. Once we entered our room, we were surprised with a yummy but delicious cake from Torarica. It wasn't overwhelmingly sweet, but rich in flavor! After we settled into our room, we were taken out to Chinatown for dinner. It's right across the street from Eco Torarica. Our friends spoiled us with delicious food, and we had a great time together. The fish was tasty, but I thought the food was better the previous times that we went. Please note that when you are at Chimin, you can't pay with your local or international card. When it was time to return to the hotel, we decided to take a stroll alongside the Suriname River. This is something I enjoy doing in all parts of the country. I've met the same river in different parts of the country, as I came to know her in many forms.  During the nighttime, the Eco Torarica is brightly lit. But the lamps they use add a romantic vibe to the resort. The only thing we didn't take into consideration was the mosquitoes waiting to feast on us!😂 Because Suriname is a tropical country, you can expect the mosquitoes to be on the hunt day and night! I hope you guys enjoy the vlog I made of our time at Eco Torarica. Are you planning on booking your hotel staycation soon? Visit Expedia for amazing deals!
